Basic Theory of Operation
Initial Turn on
• After the unit is powered up, PowerShift® will power the RRU with a safe voltage minimum line
resistance of .15 ohms.
• During the circuit configuration process the wire gauge size and total length of wire is imputed into
the controller GUI. This process will set the bottom voltage to the correct level to achieve a top
voltage of -54V.
• By lowering the current in the conductors connecting the power to the RRU less power is lost
heating the conductors.
• The 54 VDC will be maintained even during RRU load changes or trunk resistance changes due to
temperature. Support lengths 170’ to 500’ of 6 AWG Low Inductance Trunks at 1600 Watts of RRU
Power.
• The 54 VDC will be maintained should controller fail. The boost and redundant modules internal
memory maintain line resistance setting.

2. Connect Ethernet Patch cable from PC to LAN port on back of
PowerShift Shelf
3. PC must be configured for DHCP operation on its Ethernet port
4. Open web browser (Chrome) on PC and enter URL: 192.168.2.1.
GUI page should load.
Note: When the Controller is powered up it may take 1-2
minutes before the web browser can connect, and then It may
take 30 seconds or longer for the login page to appear
5. Enter the password: super-user (lower case, no spaces)
Note: Default Login does not require a user name
6. Click Submit, the GUI Home Page will load
