Pets are our friends. We play with them, talk to them, and spend a lot of money on them. We love them
as much as we love our children. About 56 percent of Americans keep a pet. In the United States, there
are even more pets than children. Most people keep a dog or a cat as their pets. Others also keep birds,
fish, rabbits, etc. as pets. Some people also keep dangerous animals like snakes or tigers as pets.

To many people, pets are part of the family. They would love to sleep with their dogs or cats. Some are
so happy to pay a lot of money just to travel with their pets. Keeping pets can make people happy and
stay healthy. Pets are very useful for people with heart disease. Pets also bring joy and comfort to
cheer lonely people up.
