For section 2 prepare either option 1 or option 2 (10 marks)

Option 1 - Scales & Arpeggios from memory

For the examination the Candidate should be asked to perform all of the following scales and
arpeggios from memory. Play each scale and arpeggio tongued or slurred (as requested by the
teacher/examiner)

Scales
Majors: B, Db & F# (two octaves)
Minors Eb, (two octaves) harmonic Bb & F# (two octaves) melodic, G# (12th) harmonic

Arpeggios
Majors: B, Db & F# (two octaves)
Minors Eb, Bb & F# (two octaves) G# (12th)

Chromatic Scale
Starting on Bb (up to top F)

Dominant 7th
In A (two octaves)

Diminished 7th
Starting on C (two octaves)

Option 2 – Alternative to scales from memory
