ACCOMPLISHMENT REPORT: KID/KABSCOUT

INVESTITURE AND DAYCAMP ACTIVITY 2023-2024

I. INTRODUCTION

Based on DepEd Order No. 34 series of 2022 otherwise known as “School Calendar and Activities for
School Year 2022-2023,” the schools must follow the implementing guidelines in the enclosures of
the said DepEd Order that enumerates the different activities for the school year 2022-2023. It is
specified in the enclosures that school must conduct In-Service. In congruity with the annual scouting
celebration, we have concocted some activities which aim to participate in activities that promote
responsible citizenship and leadership, engage in practical skills that will lead to profitable sources of
livelihood and show love and respect for the family, friends, classmates and person in authority.
Through play, children develop the ability to think, reflect and reason, separately from the world of
objects around them. Play is a physical or mental activity that we do for fun, without any other
purpose in mind.

These activities will be able to recognize the value of working in a group and to effectively help group
work in a cohesive manner. Recognize the value of working with others and becoming skilled at
initiating and maintaining cooperation, moreover, as leaders they will develop dynamic and creative
thinkers who can disseminate and put into practice all beneficial/useful information.

Scouting with the Boy Scouts of the Philippines (BSP) is an effective co-curricular program in the
leadership and value formation of every child. The BSP has consistently produced leaders and role
models who are true advocates of the Scout Oath and Law. With its impressive track record on youth
development, the Department of Education (DepEd) recognizes the significant role of the BSP in
aiding the school system mold pupils and students into responsible and responsive citizens of the
country and in contributing to efforts to achieve quality education. As a co-curricular program,
Scouting helps stem away vices and bad influence of drugs and peers. As such, membership and
participation in Boy Scouting and its programs, projects and activities should be highly encouraged
and supported in the schools.

In the Primary Level, there are two highlighted activities that all scouts are looking forward. The
Investiture Ceremony and the Daycamp Activity.

There are two bracket of scouts that are participating in these activities. The KID Scouting Program,
otherwise known as the 'Kabataang Imumulat Diwa” is offered to young boys aged four (4) to six (6)
years. This program is home and family-centered and its activities are non-competitive while KAB
Scouting (Kabataan Alay sa Bayan) is for boys 6 to 9 years old (grades through 3). They wear a
yellow neckerchief. Daycamp is a multi-day outdoor experience under the supervision of specially
trained volunteers. The program is thoughtfully designed to teach Cub Scouts basic life skills through
fun activities ranging from Shooting Sports to nature
II: Objectives:
 To be consistent with the Department of Education’s mission to develop every boy and every
young man into well rounded individual with exemplary character worth the emulation of
school children
 to help the youth develop values and acquire competencies to become responsible citizens and
capable leaders anchored on the Scout Oath and Law
 prepared the youth to become agents of change in communities, guided by the Scout Oath and
Law.

IV: REFLECTIONS/RECOMMENDATIONS
This annual activities includes teamwork, leadership, time management, initiative, communication,
self-motivation, cultural awareness and love for the environment. Through these values, they can
stand on their own for whatever situations they may experience in life.
As the saying goes, scouting is a character training with the goal of helping the participants become
free and helpful as well as become “healthy, happy and helpful citizens”.
I highly recommend that extracurricular activities like Scouting should be implemented because of the
positive effects of it to learners, but regular classes should not be affected in conducting the said
activities. It should be beyond school hours, to still focus the learners in their studies as well.
