Q2. Define Avogadro’s Law and molar volume. [2]

Q3. The compound A has the following % composition by mass. Carbon 26.7%, oxygen 71.1% hydrogen
2.2%. Determine the empirical formula of A. (work to one decimal place). If the relative molecular
mass of A is 90, What is the molecular formula of A. [ H=1, C = 12, O = 16] [5]

Q4. 450 cm3 of CO and 200 cm3 of oxygen are mixed together and ignited. Calculate the composition of
the resulting mixture. [2]

i) Washing soda crystals are exposed to the atmosphere.
ii) Ferrous sulphide treated with dil sulphuric acid solution.
iii) Zinc sulphate treated with sodium hydroxide solution.

ii) Ammonium sulphate treated with potassium hydroxide solution.
iii) Leadnitrate treated with sodium carbonate solution.
