Parent Information – WRO – Connecting The World

Dear Parent / Student


Our school has taken various initiatives to encourage students in developing 21st century skills which helps them
become aware, learn new concepts through our Beyond Curriculum programs.

We are happy to announce, that school is participating in World Robot Olympiad (WRO) and invite student to
participate and represent the school in the prestigious competition.

World Robot Olympiad is an international robotics competition created by World Robot Olympiad Association held
annually in over 90 member countries. WRO is being organized in India, by India STEM Foundation (ISF), since 2006.

World Robot Olympiad’s mission is to provide young people all the opportunities to develop their creativity and
problem-solving skills in a fun and engaging way through hands-on robotics competitions.

Each season theme-based robotics, research and game challenges are introduced for students. The theme for this
year is “CONNECTING THE WORLD”

Age Category
Elementary Category Junior Category Senior Category
8 to 12 Years 11 to 15 years 14 to 19 Years

Participation Fee: Rs.1750 per student. This is a special discount fee for our school students.

Level 1: WRO India National Entrance Test – WRO India NET


- One hour Online, Objective & Grade Appropriate Test on Science, Math's & Aptitude.
- Students who score 60% & above will progress to Level 2. In Future Innovators Category

- Grade 3rd to 5th


a) 50 Questions / 100 marks, No Negative Marking,
b) Science: 40, Maths: 40, Aptitude: 20

- Grade 6th to 12th


a) 100 Questions / 100 Marks, Per wrong answer 0.25-mark deduction
b) Math’s: 40, Science: 40, Aptitude: 20

Level 2: Virtual Round - Project Idea/ Concept Video


- School to form team of 2-3 students, in same age category, same school, a Mentor.
- Teams research, learn, create projects, videos & submit online.
- Top 40 Projects/ Ideas from each Virtual Region will progress to Round 3.

Level 3: In Person Regional Competition: Showcase Project Models / Robots


- 10 to 15 Regional Venues for In Person Regional Competition hosted by Partner Host School.
- Top 400 teams from Future Innovators and RoboMission category combined shall be eligible to participate in
the WRO India National Championship - Level 4.

Level 4: In Person National Championship


Top teams from all regionals meet at the grand WRO India National Competition to celebrate their own journey of
grit, determination, creativity, and learning.

Level 5: World Robot Olympiad International Championship: 7-9 November 2023, Panama
Winning teams from WRO India National then progress to represent the country at WRO International
championship.

1. Distinction certificate : Score 85% and above
2. Merit certificate : Score 60-85%
3. Participant Certificate : Score Less than 60%

Level 2 – Virtual regional competition - Winner – Top 3 positions in each age group category
1. Gold Badge Certificate: Score 75% and above.
2. Silver Badge Certificate: Score 50% - 75%
3. Bronze Badge Certificate: Remaining teams

Level 3 – In-person regional competition - Winner – Top 3 positions in each age group category
1. Best Project and Best Robot Score award - Top 3 in Elementary, Junior, and Senior
2. Gold, Silver, Bronze, and participation certificates for teams as per rules.

Level 4 - WRO India National level - Winner – Top 3 positions in each age group category
1. Best Project and Best Robot Score award - Top 3 in Elementary, Junior, and Senior
2. RoboGenius team spirit Award
3. RoboGenius Tech Solution Award
4. Crimson Education Start-up Award
5. LEGO Education Innovation Award
6. Gold, Silver, Bronze, and participation certificates for teams as per rules.
