PRENZA ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
Education is a potent force in the promotion of opportunity and growth. It is the social institution through
which society imparts important knowledge, basic facts, job skills, and cultural norms and values to its members.
School provides a structured education while also promoting a child's mental and psychological development.
Aside from academics, a child will learn valuable life skills such as creative teamwork, good manners, altruistic
unity, equitable sharing, and personal responsibility. The learner is molded and shaped in school to become a
better person. This would necessitate dedicated school personnel, cooperative parents, an accountable community,
and enthusiastic and innovative students. Educators and others involved believe that the environment plays an
important and influential role in each learner's learning process. As a result, if the classrooms are unsuitable for
learning due to poor physical conditions. With this goal in mind, the Department of Education conducted its
annual "Brigada Eskwela" from August 1 to 26, 2023, as stated in its DepEd Memorandum 062 s.2022 issued on
August 01, 2022, in preparation for the start of SY 2022-2023 on August 22, 2022.
The slogan of Brigada Eskwela, “Brigada Eskwela: Tugon sa Hamon ng Ligtas na Balik-Aral,” is this
year’s theme to highlight the country's collective efforts in promoting collaboration for safe living and addressing
social issues and concerns in school, at home, and in the community. Brigada Eskwela must be implemented in
accordance with the required health standards, which include observing social distancing measures and practicing
proper hygiene in accordance with Inter-Agency Task Force health protocols, Department of Health standards,
local and national quarantine rules, and all other relevant protocols.
The National Brigada Eskwela kick-off program happened on August 1, 2022, and was hosted by DepEd
Region IV-A CALABARZON, streamed on the DepEd Philippines official Facebook page. Secretary Sara Z.
Duterte enthusiastically encouraged stakeholders to innovate and collaborate in the face of the pandemic's
challenges. The slogan "Brigada Eskwela: Tugon sa Hamon ng Ligtas na Balik-Aral" echoed in the minds of
those involved during this year's National Brigada Eskwela, which ran from August 1 to 26, 2022, and focused
on preparation and partnership activities that supported the implementation of the Basic Education Learning
Continuity Plan (BE-LCP). The Education Secretary then challenged everyone to strive for innovation and
transformation, as well as to adapt to the changing educational and learning environments and needs of the twenty-
first century. Assistant Secretary and Chief of Staff Atty. Micheal Wesley T. Poa, emphasized that this year's
program focused on collaboration to strengthen and support initiatives for schools, teachers, and learners. Brigada
Eskwela reinforced the Brigada Pagbasa initiative, which seeks to engage parents and partners in the creation of
impactful and functional learning spaces at home for the purpose of fostering academic ease. In addition, the
Department encouraged schools to incorporate WASH in Schools (WINS) and Disaster Preparedness components

we can do so little, but together, we can do so much," she said, speaking for all of us. Our strength comes from
working together. Wonderful things can be accomplished when there is teamwork and collaboration."

collaboration to strengthen the implementation of various blended learning modalities and support initiatives for
In this New Normal, Prenza Elementary School’s Brigada Eskwela reinforced and improved the "Brigada
Pagbasa," through virtual storytelling, book donation drive, and after-school reading programs that aims to bring
together educational partners and experts to help all learners read and become functionally literate. The Brigada
Pagbasa is a platform for coordinating efforts and resources to address educational challenges, particularly literacy
and numeracy. It also provides opportunities for all stakeholders to contribute potential solutions to the country's
current gaps in education, particularly in equipping learners with 21st Century skills.
Prenza Elementary School valued its stakeholders who played an important role in ensuring that schools
operate efficiently and effectively. They work with school leaders to create and maintain a learning environment

seminars on mental health, oral hygiene, parenting, child protection policy, fire and earthquake safety, climate
change/global warming, urban gardening, and psychological first aid in order to cope with the effects of the new
normal.
In conclusion, the implementation of various programs was a success due to the collaborative efforts of
all involved stakeholders who selfishly dedicated all of their resources to assisting in the achievement of the
Brigada Eskwela 2022 goal, which is to prepare Prenza Elementary School, to be safe in the resumption of face-
to-face classes after two long years of pandemic. The success was a testament to the Bayanihan culture that we,
