We have so many problems here on the earth.

One of these is people being biased, with this

it affects a lot of people. When a certain person's tendency is to look for, read, and
remember information that supports our existing values, attitudes, or beliefs, it is called
confirmation bias. This is what usually happens to friends, families, or relatives. There are
many everyday examples of people using confirmation bias behavior. When a person has a
report and they don't base on what is true and just stay on his idea and beliefs it is an
example of confirmation bias. There’s so many examples of confirmation bias that really
affects people.

In the actual world, confirmation bias has significant ramifications in fields including law,
medicine, and interpersonal relationships. Studies has demonstrated that medical physicians
are just as likely to exhibit confirmation biases as everyone else. Early in the course of
treatment, doctors frequently have a preliminary suspicion about the diagnosis of a medical
problem. This presumption can make it difficult for the clinician to evaluate data that would
suggest an alternate diagnosis is more plausible. How patients respond to diagnoses is
another linked consequence. People are more inclined to accept a diagnosis that is in line
with their desired outcome than one that is in opposition to it. Both of these illustrations
show how confirmation bias affects people's health and wellbeing. Judges and juries
occasionally render verdicts on a defendant's guilt or innocence before being fully informed
of the evidence in a case. Confirmation bias prevents a judge or juror from properly
considering new information that becomes available during a trial, which could result in
unfair verdicts.

We should avoid it because it leads to bad decision making. You will set your mind on just
one thing. For me, it is not good since we are being closed minded to what is true and we
are close minded on other ideas and beliefs of people around us. I have this friend that is
very closed minded on other people’s ideas, because of this he always fights against our
classmates. Even in group work he doesn't listen to other ideas and beliefs. Then, eventually
one of our closest friends confronted him and he realized what he did. After what happened,
I also realized that I should open my mind and be open to what is true especially as a student
leader and as a eldest sister. I should be open minded for me to widen my knowledge and
to know what is the fact information.

The hardest part of overcoming confirmation bias is having to question one's own reasoning,
which is much easier said than done. The easiest method to prevent confirmation bias is to
examine a notion you have and look for areas where you are mistaken rather than areas
where you are correct. Prior to making a decision, it is crucial to thoroughly weigh all of the
available information. Even after coming to a conclusion, we must constantly reevaluate its
accuracy as new information comes to light. To be open to new ideas, you don't have to give
up your principles and convictions. Not rejecting an idea just means you're entertaining it.
Simply try to see the other side of a belief you hold and consider the alternative. You can
start the battle against confirmation bias right here.
