We are currently living in the modern period, where most of the technology is advanced. In today's digital
age, almost everyone owns mobile phones. Mobile phones have become an integral part of our daily lives to the
point where we can't live without them. From communication to entertainment, we rely on these devices to stay
connected and informed. The debate on whether mobile phones should be allowed in schools has been ongoing
for years. Some argue that they are just distractions, while others believe they are valuable learning tools.
However, we firmly believe that allowing mobile phones in schools benefits the students in various ways. Let’s
explore the reasons why we believe mobile phones should be allowed in schools and how they can positively
impact the student's performance.
The first reason why mobile phones should be allowed to be carried is for emergency purposes. Having a
direct line of communication with parents or emergency services can be crucial. Mobile phones serve as a
lifeline, providing an immediate connection to help in times of need. By allowing students to carry mobile
phones, we empower them with a tool that enhances their safety and security. Moreover, mobile phones serve as
an additional tool for learning. The lack of access to physical books can indeed be a challenge for many
students. Allowing and giving the students the freedom to use their mobile phones during their lessons, will
provide access to technology that offers opportunities for research, engagement, and active participation during
the class.
Another reason is that students can access digital learning material on their phones such as news stories,
blog posts, and magazine articles. The accessibility of digital learning materials on students' phones can
significantly enhance the learning experience. It is more portable and convenient for them to learn since they
can study anytime, anywhere with the help of mobile phones. Last of all, mobile phones play a significant role
in students development regarding organizational skills such as task management, time management, and
scheduling. These are no longer the days of only paper yearly planners and to-do lists, in these days, planning
can be done digitally on your phone. Mobile phones are key to coordination and it already become a valuable
aspect of modern education.
In conclusion, allowing cell phones in schools is more advantageous than not. The success of allowing
mobile phones in schools still depends on how well the teachers or educators will teach the students how to use
them properly. They are not just gadgets for communication and entertainment, they are powerful tools that can
enhance the educational experience for students. By embracing technology in the classroom, we equip our
students with the skills they need to thrive in the 21st century.
