• Renovation of Cardiac emergency and shifted to ground floor and working as a separate ward with
provision of administering drugs and managing common cardiac emergencies.
• Initiation of cardio EOW with 5 beds which remains functional from 6 PM to 6 pm if certain
characteristics are met( ACS within 24 hours, patients with unstable rhythms)
• Same day Echo is being conducted in Cardio OPD
• Prof Saroj Mandal has been promoted to Professor.
• Dr Pradip Saha has been promoted to the post of Associate Professor
• Dr Rajarshi Mondal will join as an Assistant professor in our department.
• Day care Angiography has been started in the Trauma Care Centre Cath lab
• Interdepartmental seminar involving departments of Cardiology, CTVS and CTVA have started and is
held fourth Sunday of every month.

• Successfully running National Heart Failure Register in collaboration with Medical College, Kolkata.
• Successfully running DEB study “Prospective, Multicentric, single arm trial to evaluate safety and
performance of SELUTION and SELUTION PRO sirolimus drug coated balloon in the management of
Coronary Artery Disease.
• Became Examiner of DNB and DM examination
• Member of CDSCO for Drug Vigilance.
• CSI National (Chennai) and State (Kolkata) level presenter and Guest Faculty
Ongoing Study
• A multicenter, randomized, double-blind, double dummy, Phase III study to compare safety and efficacy
of fixed dose combination of Aspirin 150 mg and Pantoprazole 20 mg versus Aspirin 150 mg alone for the
prevention of gastroduodenal mucosal damage in patients taking aspirin for secondary prevention of
cardiovascular disease or cerebrovascular disease.

• HIS bundle pacing is safe alternative to CRT Pacing in heart failure with reduced ejection fraction, 3 years
follow up study
• Left Atrial Strain imaging in mitral imaging in mitral stenosis patients as a predictor of Left atrial
appendageal thrombosis

• Journal Club held on every Tuesday at 9:00 AM.

• Clinical Case Discussion held on every Friday at 9:00 AM.
• Clinical teaching & Training on non-invasive methods and invasive investigations as well as intervention
are going on
• DM students are working on their thesis.
• Cath lab Technician (DCLT) and Critical Care (DCCT) students are being trained.
Other Information
• DNB(Cardiology) examination (on all India basis) is usually conducted twice a year.
• Separate Pediatric Cath-Lab is running successfully.
• 8 post DM SR joined this year
