NASKAH DRAMA PERANG DIPONEGORO
On January 5, 1808 during Daendels' occupation, a dispute between the Dutch and the Palace took
place.

Smissaert's
leadership made the people suffer. A noble son of Hamengku Buwono III appeared named
Raden Mas Ontowiryo or Prince Diponegoro. Prince Diponegoro was dissatisfied with seeing the
suffering of the people because of Dutch cruelty and cunning, Prince Diponegoro began to oppose
Dutch domination.

Then Prince Diponegoro borrowed money from captain Tiong Hoa. Smissaert succeeded in
deceiving the two sultan's guardians to pass the compensation requested by Nahuys for the

really hated the Dutch treatment and control of the archipelago, he saw his people suffer

After the conflict occurred, Prince Diponegoro finally cut off his relationship with the
palace. Finally Prince Diponegoro put up a fight by canceling the penja puwasa in May 1985 so that
the farmers in Tegal Rejo could buy weapons and food.

Then Prince Diponegoro devised a war strategy to attack the Yogyakarta Palace by
isolating the Dutch troops.
As Leader Prince Diponegoro was accompanied by Prince Mangkubumi Alibasyah Sentot,
and Kyai Maja as spiritual supervisors in this war. This war was increasingly widespread in almost all
of Java. Because of that the Netherlands tried to increase its strength.

and Pekalongan and Ler. Col. Diell to the Banyumas area.”

The Dutch destroyed the defense posts of the Diponegoro Troops. Then the Diponegoro
Post from Selarong Cave was moved to Dekso by the leader Alibasyah Sentot. Alibasyah Sentot
succeeded in defeating the Dutch in the western region. And Diponegoro's troops won

In 1827 Diponegoro's resistance was defeated by the Dutch. Many of the leaders who helped
Diponegoro were arrested, although people's resistance was still going on.

Then the Imogiri agreement was signed between Alibasyah Sentot and the Dutch. The surrender or
capture of Diponegoro's followers was a heavy blow to the struggle of Prince Diponegoro.

Immediately the Dutch publicized the competition, but no one was interested. The Dutch managed
to find Diponegoro in the Gombong area, a trick from the Netherlands managed to hand over
Diponegoro alive. Then he was sent to Semarang and headed for the port to be exiled to South
Sulawesi. Until Prince Diponegoro died in the Dutch Fort located in Makassar, namely Fort
Rotterdam.
