Introduction
Republic Act No. 9163, also known as the “National Service Training Program
(NSTP) Act of 2001” declares the affirmed action of the prime duty of the government
to serve and protect its citizens. In turn, it shall be the responsibility of all citizens to
defend the security of the State and in fulfilment thereof, the government may require
each citizen to render personal, military or civil service. The state must foster civic
consciousness in young people and enhance their physical, moral, spiritual,
intellectual, and social well-being in light of their critical role in the development of
the nation. It will foster nationalism and patriotism in the youth and increase their
engagement in public and civic issues. In order to achieve these objectives, the
youth—who are the country's most important resource—must be inspired, prepared,
organized, and mobilized for military service, literacy, civic engagement, and other
like endeavors

To fulfill the 32-hour task, we, a group of 1st-year BSMA students, took
action on May 8, 2024, by initiating the cleaning of the assigned half of
the oval. Our initial tasks included grass cutting and the removal of
weeds, particularly the "makahiya" plants and other types of weeds and
grass. On the early morning of June 19, 2024, some of us traveled to
Manuba Brgy. Santol, Mauban Quezon, to gather white river stones for
our beautification process. Meanwhile, other BSMA students continued
cleaning the oval by clearing out all weeds and grass, as well as
trimming dry branches of trees in the area. Our team proceeded with
cleaning the half of the oval and began decorating/landscaping by
placing white river stones around some of the trees in the field. After
completing the beautification process, we ensured to maintain
cleanliness by sweeping the area every time we worked.
The landscaping project was not only successful but also provided us
with valuable lessons in various aspects. To complete the task,
cooperation was essential. We learned the significance of supporting
each other and working together to achieve a satisfactory outcome. We
strongly believe in the remarkable power of teamwork to enhance
productivity, job satisfaction, and individual performance.

Thanks to our NSTP 2 adviser, Sir. John Karlo D. Nava, and the
president of ERT Pres. Marlo Estocado and his ERT members. Who
taught us everything we need to know on how we could help others by
doing basic first aid. And with the knowledge on how to save lives,
ordinary people become extraordinary heroes. This memorable day was
held on the 2nd day of June, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm at the Pambayang
Kolehiyo ng Mauban room 1.
As business student we are not just only care for our business but we
also care our community environment.
Under the guidance of Mr. Jon Karlo D. Nava our NSTP instructor, we
are first year business student organized a community service project
entitled Alay Linis in Brgy. Bagong Bayan Mauban, Quezon. The activity
took place on June 16, 202, from 6:00 am- 8:00 am.
At first our leader divided our section and give assigned leaders in every
street to clean. We do divide our section to make sure that all streets in
Bagong Bayan will clean the surroundings. Every member brought
cleaning material such as dust pan, broom and garbage bag. Then, we
go to our assigned street to start sweeping the roads/ highways and
canal. We remove all the garbage that we see along the way. After
cleaning the streets, we felt tired but it makes us happy because we've
been part of this community service.

Individuals or communities can benefit from this first aid and basic life
that people can use if there is an emergency in their community.
Community Service
As a student, it is a fulfilling experience to participate in the community
service cleaning that my classmates and I did in barangay Bagong
Bayan, where the area we cleaned was Quezon St. I was happy to
sweep the trash or dirt along the way to make sure that the surroundings
were clean; even if there was a little rain, it did not become an obstacle
to continuing our cleaning, and it allowed us to be more patient and
hardworking for our goal of maintaining the cleanliness of the place, and
people should throw their trash properly. I realized that even if we feel
tired, it is replaced by a smile because we can help simply protect the
environment. In addition, through this activity, we can build a good
relationship with our classmates and the people we can socialize with
through this community service. Cleaning the surroundings made me
realize I should engage more in activities like this, and people should
observe their surroundings and maintain cleanliness by cleaning their
surroundings. As individuals, we should do our part to keep our
surroundings clean and participate in the community if there is an activity
about cleaning up. Furthermore, I learned the importance of community
service for individuals or communities where we can join an activity, and
the objective is to take care of the environment.

Community Service
My reflection in community service are engaging activities that benefit
the community, and its help us to develop time management skills to
make a positive impact on society, As students bringing people together
with a shared purpose and strengthening social bonds.
Community Service
Engaging in community service in Barangay was fulfilling, allowing me
to positively impact the local community. Working with residents and
leaders deepened my understanding of Barangay's challenges and
needs. Contributing to projects like clean-up drives created unity among
volunteers. Seeing tangible results, such as better infrastructure and
happier community members, was rewarding. Overall, the community
service in Barangay was a meaningful and enriching experience that
strengthened my connection to the community and instilled a sense of
civic responsibility.

SCHOOL COMMUNITY SERVICE
On our first day of school community
service, i was only accomplished 3hrs of
cleaning. As our instructor said we are required to complete 32hrs on our
assigned part the half of the oval. Every time i got there, i brought
materials such as broom and knife. Then, i started to help my
classmates in cleaning the area. I also do cut some grass especially the
'makahiya plants'. The other day i put some white stones on the plants
and sweeping the leaves that already cut to maintain cleanliness. It's not
easy to finish the task because we go to school at early 6am to clean but
it's worth it to be part of this activity. I learned to manage my time and to
help community

My reflection about School Community service and First Aid Basic life
support. Community service is a very special and important activity when
it comes to wanting to not only better your school but also connect with
the community in a way that is not possible in your everyday life. For this
semester I experimented with a different types of community service, it
ranges all the way from cleaned our school and to know the first aid and
Basic life support. Doing all of these things really opened up my eyes, it
made me realize how much our community needs our help, and if we do
not put forth the effort nothing is going to change or get better. I am not
saying what I did over this semester changed anything, but I now know
all the benefits of community service and hope that one day in the near
future I can contribute in a way that is beneficial to others of my
community.

My reflection about school community service and first aid and basic
life support community service is to help everyone needs help and
maintain our place as clean as well. Community service in school plays a
crucial role in the development of students. It teaches responsibility,
empathy, and the importance of giving back to society. Engaging in
community service helps students build strong relationships within their
communities, understand diverse perspectives, and develop a sense of
civic duty. Additionally, it can enhance their social skills, improve self-
esteem, and provide valuable experiences that can shape their future
career paths. Overall, community service fosters a well-rounded
education by promoting personal growth and a greater understanding of
the world beyond the classroom.

While we were serving the people at Brgy. Alay Linis. After cleaning for
two hours at Bagong Bayan, I learned how crucial teamwork is to
ensuring that the activity is done more efficiently. I took on more
responsibility, particularly with regard to disposing of the trash correctly.
Serving the community has meant more to me than just ticking things off
a list. It's been a journey of self-actualization, growing closer to my
community, and understanding the huge advantages of giving back. My
initial reasons for doing community service were to fulfil a requirement or
to feel as though I had accomplished something. Keeping our community
clean is crucial to our ability to prevent disasters, all things considered.

The act of delivering first aid, which appears basic but profound, has
left an indelible impression on my worldview. It's more than simply a
collection of procedures; it demonstrates the human potential for
compassion, resilience, and a fundamental desire to assist others in their
time of need. I was first apprehensive about first aid. The prospect of
dealing with an emergency, of having to act decisively in a time of crisis,
filled me with worry and doubt. Learning the fundamentals of first aid,
from basic wound care to CPR, gave me a sense of confidence and
preparation. I had a hard time with CPR but it's okay because it also
helps me so that I have a little knowledge. It wasn't simply knowing what
to do it was understanding the basic principles of human physiology and
the importance.
Community Service
In the cleanup offering, I am happy because some barangays have
been helped to clean up their environment. It is a tangible expression of
our connection to the natural world, a commitment to the future, and a
powerful symbol of community service. My recent experience
participating in a community service initiative has left an indelible mark
on my perspective, revealing the transformative power of this seemingly
simple act. Initially, I approached the task with a sense of duty, a desire
to contribute to a worthy cause.
P a g e | 31
Community Service
For community service so we started at 6:00 am and we finished at 8 so
what I learned was part community service so bara barangay was
assigned then there we went around so every way we went there was
trash like plastic all over the place and then leaves and of course we
have a trash bin so the hardest part of sweeping is the trash in the bang-
bang, it's really hard to sweep because it smells The smell The smell is
very stinky but it's still swept, just be patient if you want to clean it so for
the 3hrs when we were sweeping what I also learned is that when the
environment is clean it's very nice to look at and it's nice to walk then the
air is so fresh and it's really tired yes of course but worth it.

Community Service
As I reflect in community service in Barangay Bagong Bayan on June
16. It was a valuable experience that not only reinforced the value of
giving back to the community but also taught me valuable lessons about
teamwork, resilience, and compassion. With the cooperation of my
classmates, our president divided us, she assigned cleaners to every
street in the barangay so that everywhere would be clean. During two
hours of community service, my classmates and I helped and
collaborated in cleaning up. This emphasizes the importance of unity
and cooperation in achieving of common purpose. Despite unexpected
challenges like rain, we showed resilience and adaptability by finding
shelter and then continuing our work with renewed determination. This
experience instilled in me the importance of perseverance and the
fulfillment that comes from making a positive impact in the lives of
others. Witnessing the joy and gratitude of community members as we
clean their streets further emphasizes the power of service and the
visible results of collective efforts. Through community service
experience, I learned that even small acts of kindness and dedication
can contribute to a greater sense of community well-being and foster a
spirit of empathy and solidarity among individuals.

though it is a subject fulfilment we can be a role model for our local

Even though it is exhausting, we have to
finish it before the finals because it is also
for us, our grades, and if the time is not
complete we can fail this subject. So, we persevered to finish it just to
have good grades, we had to come up with 32 hours to clean or beautify
our area. In this activity I learned that we need to clean our environment
to make it clean.

In this activity we assigned to clean the barangay Bagong Bayan, we
cleaned the street. It was tiring but at least it helped clean up the

Service. One of the most significant lessons from this experience was
the importance of teamwork. Cleaning such a half area could have been
overwhelming for an individual, but by dividing the tasks and working
collaboratively, we were able to complete the job efficiently.
We always clean at time, but I tend to be late sometimes. Maintaining its
cleanliness not only enhances its aesthetic appeal but also ensures it
remains a safe and pleasant space for everyone. It is not just about
fulfilling a requirement but about making a meaningful contribution to the
community. Through such activities, we develop empathy, learn the
value of hard work, and understand the impact of our actions on others.

Assessing first aid and basic life support training can identify strengths,
areas for improvement, and the influence on participants. This
assessment evaluates hitch content, delivery, attendance, skills learned,
self-confidence, problem-solving, and future plans. This ensures
attendees are equipped for emergencies and saves lives, promoting
continuous training in new areas.
First aid is the first treatment provided to an injured or ill person before
professional medical help arrives. It comprises skills such as wound
cleansing, bandaging, and minor injury management, which can help to
lessen the severity of an accident and avoid consequences. Having
knowledge of first aid and the basic life support can change someone
from being a bystander to participating and responding actively. This
training builds confidence and preparedness, allowing individuals to deal
with emergencies calmly and accurately. Having the skills to perform
CPR or control heavy bleeding can be empowering because it allows
you to impact emergency situations in a positive way.
My reflection in First Aid and Basic Life Support is you will learn how to
be responsible when you are needed even if you have no responsibility
for that person, you will understand the word "help without
recompense", in case someone is needed or you encounter someone
who needs First Aid you know you already it and you have an idea on
how to do that, Kuya Marlo said when we studied First Aid, help those
who need help, don't be shy to do what you learn.

One of the most impactful aspects of the training was the emphasis on
staying calm and composed under pressure. We learned the importance
of assessing the situation, prioritizing actions, and remaining focused
even in the face of adversity. This newfound understanding of
composure will undoubtedly serve me well, not only in emergency
situations but also in other aspects of my life. The training also
highlighted the significance of teamwork and communication in an
emergency response. We practiced working together as a team,
effectively communicating roles and responsibilities, and ensuring that
everyone was on the same page. This collaborative approach reinforced
the idea that even in the most stressful situations, working together can
make a world of difference.
Community Service
My participation in "Alay Linis" was an experience that left a deep mark
on me, not only in my understanding of serving the community but also
in my perspective on our environment. At the forefront, my motivation
stemmed from a sense of responsibility. I felt a duty to help maintain the
cleanliness of our surroundings. The idea of cleaning public areas may
seem like a simple task, but as I joined in, I realized its significant
importance.
"Alay Linis" is not just about removing trash; it is about showing care for
our environment. Every piece of litter we picked up and swept away
served as a reminder of our responsibility to take care of our world.
Cleaning the street sides is a way of expressing love and respect for our
community. Through "Alay Linis," I saw the positive impact of our
actions. Places that were once dirty and unpleasant became clean and
inviting. This transformation serves as a reminder that our actions have
the power to make a difference.

was not just about acquiring skills; it was about fostering a sense of

Cleaning the school oval was not just about picking up litter, it was
about taking pride in our school environment and working together to
create a clean and safe space for everyone.
During the cleaning activity, I realized the impact of our actions on the
environment and the well-being of our school community. It has
motivated me to be more conscious of my actions and to take proactive
steps to maintain a clean and sustainable school environment.
Participating in a community service program focused on First Aid and
Basic Life Support training has been a transformative experience that
has deepened my understanding of the importance of emergency
response skills and the impact they can have on saving lives.
One of the most impactful aspects of this community service program
was the hands-on practice sessions where we simulated real-life
emergency scenarios. These simulations allowed me to apply the skills I
had learned in a controlled environment and reinforced the importance of
quick and effective response in emergencies.
We worked together to practice and refine our skills, sharing knowledge
and experiences to support each other in our learning journey.
Through this community service program, I realized the profound

The activities I participated in Paglilinis sa
Oval (School Community Service), First
Aid and Basic Life Support training, and
Alay Linis (Community Service), have
been very rewarding. Engaging in initiatives like Paglilinis sa Oval not
only helps keep our school environment clean and beautiful, but also
teaches us about teamwork, responsibility, and civic duty. Working
together to maintain a clean and organized space has helped me and
my classmates develop a strong sense of ownership and pride in our
school, creating a positive school culture and a stronger sense of
community. The first aid and basic life support training has equipped us
with essential skills that could potentially save lives in emergencies.
Learning how to assess and respond to medical emergencies has made
me and my classmates more prepared and confident in handling
unexpected events, both at school and elsewhere. These skills not only
benefit those who receive immediate assistance but also contribute to
creating a safer environment for the entire school community. Engaging
in community service activities beyond the school, such as participating
in Alay Linis programs, has allowed us to extend our impact to the
broader community. By volunteering our time and energy to clean and
improve public spaces, we demonstrate our commitment to social
responsibility and environmental stewardship. These experiences not
only contribute to the well-being of the community but also help foster
empathy, compassion, and a sense of connectedness among individuals
from diverse backgrounds.
Participating in initiatives like Alay Linis has also provided us with the
opportunity to broaden our perspectives, gain a deeper understanding of
local issues, and develop a sense of solidarity with those in need.
Actively engaging with the community has helped me appreciate the
value of service, collaboration, and advocacy, empowering me to make a
positive difference in the world around me. In conclusion, school
community service, first aid and basic life support training, and
P a g e | 66
community service initiatives like Alay Linis play a vital role in shaping
students into responsible, compassionate, and engaged members of
society. Through these experiences, students learn valuable skills,
cultivate important values, and make meaningful contributions to their

social responsibility that benefits both individuals and society as a whole.

T
he activities we've done in our National Service
Training Program give me the chance to make a
contribution to the community or be an individual
that helps the community be better. Like the school community service, by simply
cleaning the school, we are able to contribute to the cleanliness of the campus and
make the school a virtuous one. Although it’s tiring, I'm still glad that we’re able to
keep the school clean. Also, we should remind ourselves that making the school
clean is our responsibility, so even though we don’t have NSTP, we should still do
something to make our school clean. Then, first aid and basic life support give me
the chance to learn how to save people. With this, I realized that this activity is
necessary to learn; it will not just make us knowledgeable but also enable us to save
someone. Actually, this is my third time attending a seminar like this. I’m happy that I
have the chance to attend this seminar because I'll be able to refresh the knowledge,
I’ve gained from it, which will help me remember things to do to save a person. And,
for community service, we narrowed down the street in Bagong Bayan and cleaned
the roadside. By cleaning those, we make a change in their community, and although
we cleaned only for a day, at least we were able to make their community clean.
Lastly, I realized that being part of these activities helps me, as an individual, to grow
and be a good citizen. The activities taught me that the National Service Training
Program is not just a course to complete; it's a course that purposely makes the
youth responsibly.
