 EPON（Ethernet Passive Optical Network）is the

network structure of point to multiple point and adopts
passive fiber transmission, which offers broadband
access technology of various integrated services basing
on high-speed Ethernet platform and TDM （Time
Division Multiplexing）time division MAC（Media Access
Control）.
 It integrates the strongpoints of PON and Ethernet, low
cost, high broadband, strong expansibility, flexible and
fast service recombination, compatible with the current
Ethernet, convenient to manage.
