Title: A STUDY ON EFFECTIVES OF EMPLOYEE RETENTION TECHNIQUES


IN CONTROLLING ATTRITION WITH SPECIAL REFERENCE TO TVS

INTRODUCTION

1.1 BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY

Employers make a concerted effort to develop and promote an atmosphere that encourages
existing employees to stay by implementing rules and procedures that satisfy their unique
demands. A successful retention plan may be used to recruit effectively. The long-term
health
and prosperity of any firm rely heavily on the retention of important people. It is well
established that retaining your finest people results in higher customer happiness, superior
services, pleased colleagues and reporting staff, successful succession planning, and deeply
rooted organizational knowledge and learning.
Employee retention is important because it addresses organizational concerns such as
training
time and investment, knowledge loss, insecure employees, and an expensive candidate hunt.

Companies have never been more focused on retaining key personnel and dealing with
attrition
issues. In an extremely competitive market, when HR managers are poaching from one
another,
firms may either hang on to their personnel firmly or lose them to competitors. Employees no
longer remain with a single employment for years because they couldn't find a better option.
There are plenty of opportunities now. Key staff retention is crucial to any organization's
longterm health and performance. Employee performance is frequently associated with
quality
work, customer happiness, higher product sales, and even a company's image.
A successful retention plan may be a potent
recruitment tool.

Employee retention refers to an organization's capacity to retain its staff.


When staff depart, the car industries will suffer losses. Employee retention measures should
be
considered to ensure that a worker stays with a business for the longest possible amount of
time.

The study, titled "A Study on the Effectiveness of Employee Retention Techniques in
Controlling Attrition" at TVS BHARAT MOTORS, Thalassery,aims to analyze why
organizations struggle
to retain employees, the factors that impact retention, and the strategies used by the
company.

1.2 SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

Effective staff retention strategies can assist the firm in controlling attrition. High-retention
workplaces tend to hire more engaged employees, who, in turn, accomplish more. Employees
that are engaged are more likely to strengthen the customer relationships

1.3 STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

The study's goal is to investigate the many factors of employee retention in managing
attrition,
which will be valuable to the organization in improving employee retention and controlling
attrition. The management of this organization wanted to know about the success of
retention
tactics, which is why the research was undertaken.
1.4 OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY

Primary:-

To study the effectiveness of employee retention techniques in controlling attrition

Secondary:-

1) to examine the impact of pay scale in attrition


2) to study the ways to retain newly joined employees
3)to find the relationship working environment effect attrition

1.5 SCOPE OF THE STUDY

The research might assist the firm learn more about the current personnel situation. It
identifies
the elements contributing to employee retention. To identify areas and activities that have
the
greatest potential for keeping personnel and limiting attrition. The study focused on
"Employee
retention techniques in controlling attrition with special reference to TVS bharat motors.

1.6 RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

Research is the meticulous and methodical quest for pertinent information about a certain
topic. Research is a comprehensive examination or investigation, especially through the hunt
for fresh data in any subject of study.
"The study of methods by which we gain knowledge, it deals with cognitive processes
imposed
on research for the problems arising from its subject matter," is how methodology is defined.

1.6.1 PRIMARY DATA:


The objective of the study has been accomplished with the help of primary
data collected. The primary data are those which are collected for the first time, which is
original
in character, They are collected directly and are reliable. The primary data are collected
through
a scheduled questionnaire and personal interview.

1.6.2 SECONDARY DATA:


The secondary data are those which have been collected by someone
else which have already been passed through the statistical process. It has been collected
from
published records of the company, such as business journals, magazines, project reports,
websites etc.

1.6.3 SAMPLING METHOD(population):


Population sampling is a method used to select a subset (sample) from a larger group
(population) to make inferences about the entire population.
Sample size;
100 samples are obtained from population.

1.6.4 SAMPLING METHOD (convenience):


Convenience sampling is often used in preliminary research where quick insights are needed,
but it’s generally not recommended for studies aiming for high accuracy and generalizability.

1.6.5 TOOLS USED FOR DATA COLLECTION AND PRESENTATION


1. Surveys and Questionnaires:
• Tools: Google Forms, SurveyMonkey, Typeform
• Use: Collect quantitative and qualitative data from a large group of people.
2. Observation:
• Tools: notebooks, mobile apps
• Use: Collect data by observing behaviors and processes in real-time.
3. Document Analysis:
• Tools: Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace
• Use: Review and analyze existing documents and records.

1.7 LIMITATIONS OF THE STUDY
• The project work will have to be completed within in the prescribed time.
• Some respondence were less cooperation.
• To create good image resonance, vary from facts.
• Unavailable of employees during their works.
