2.1 Model
The CiTRANS R820 uses the PDP250B. The hardware codes of the PDP is
3.000.073-1FB (applicable to a 19-inch cabinet) or 3.000.073-2FB (applicable to a
21-inch cabinet).
2.2 Function
u The PDP introduces the active and standby -48 V power inputs from the
outside (such as the head of row cabinet) and outputs active and standby
power concurrently for two subracks.
u The PDP receives the alarm information from subracks, presents alarms
through indicators on top of the cabinet, and reports alarms to an upper-level
equipment (such as the head of row cabinet).

3.1 Model
The following AC/DC power adapter models are used by the CiTRANS R820,
including PTSP000146, PTSP000147, PTSP000151, and PTSP000153. The AC/
DC power adapter model is configured according to the project requirements.
3.2 Function
The AC/DC power adapter configured for the CiTRANS R820 converts the AC
power (110 V to 230 V) to the DC power (-48 V).
Two hot-swappable rectifier modules (PSUs) are configured for the system, and the
normal operating voltage range of the PSU is 90 V to 290 V.
A monitoring module (PMU) is configured for the system. This module can manage
the storage batteries and monitor the power supply system. In addition, it provides
the RS232 and RS485 communication interfaces to implement remote monitoring
and unattended service.
3.3 Appearance
The AC/DC power adapter is located at the top of the cabinet. Its appearance and
structure are shown in Figure 3-1.

R820.
4.2.1 Model
The model of the fan control card used by the CiTRANS R820 is 2.200.816.
4.2.2 Function
The fan control card is used for air cooling the equipment. The OTNM2000 can
control the operating status of fans to ensure that the equipment runs normally and
efficiently at a stable ambient temperature.
4.2.3 Appearance
The fan control card is located on the left of the subrack card area. It consists of
three standalone fans. Figure 4-2 shows the appearance of a fan control card.
Version: A 4-3
CiTRANS R820 Edge Router Hardware Description
Overview
The CiTRANS R820 fan control card works in either intelligent or manual mode.
u Manual mode: The fan unit rotates according to the speed set in the
OTNM2000. Optional speeds include full speed, high speed, intermediate and
high speed, intermediate speed, low and intermediate speed, low speed, and
ultra-low speed.
Warning:
Function Implementation
The fan control card adopts the slow start mode to reduce the impacts on the
equipment when fans are started. In intelligent mode, fans run at the medium speed
after the fans are started and before the core switch card controls the fans.
u After core switch card controls the fans, it periodically collects the temperature
information reported by each card inside the equipment, compares the
collected information with the built-in fan rotation speed parameters of each
card to determine the fan speed choice for the fans.
u The fan control card controls the speed of fans according to the fan speed
choice sent by the core switch card to ensure a proper air cooling effect of the
equipment.
u When a fan is faulty, the fan control card sends the fault information to the core
switch card and reports the fan faulty alarm to the OTNM2000.

CiTRANS R820 Edge Router Hardware Description
The CiTRANS R820 subrack provides five card slots. Figure 4-3 shows how the
slots are allocated.
Slots 01, 04, and 05 in the CiTRANS R820 subrack are permanently allocated to the
SCUS1/2/3, PWRS1, and fan control card. Slots 02 and 03 are service slots where
various types of service cards can be inserted.
The CiTRANS R820 can process a maximum routing & switching capacity of 26G.
Figure 4-4 shows the maximum capacity of the remaining service slots, excluding
the slots 01, 04 and 05 that are permanently allocated to the core switch card,
power card, and fan control card.

Optical interfaces on the panel of a CiTRANS R820 optical interface card are
classified into the RX optical interfaces for inputting optical signals and TX optical
interface for outputting optical signals. The LC optical connector is used.
Caution:
u If an optical fiber should be removed for a long time, cover the optical
interface with an anti-dust cap.
u If the yellow indicator is constantly on, the link on the port is normal.
