Unit 1 of 4 Class Computer Q & A
Q2. In how many ways we can use computer in our daily life? Enlist them.
Ans. We can use computer to perform various tasks. Which are given below:
Ans. There are two main parts of computer i.e. Hardware and software.
Ans. Hardware refers to the physical parts of a computer. Keyboard, mouse, monitor, speaker,
printer etc.
Q5. On the basis of tasks in how many groups the hardware is divided?
Ans. on the basis of tasks hardware is divided into four groups. Which are:
❖ Processor
❖ Primary storage device
❖ Secondary storage device
❖ Other hardware devices.
Q6. Define processor?
Ans. Processor is an electronic chip that controls all the tasks running on computer. It is a
hardware device. Which sends signals to other parts of computer and make calculations.its is also
called brain of computer.
Ans. The internal storage devices are called primary storage devices known as RAM (Random
Access Memory).
Ans. RAM stands for Random Access Memory is a type of computer which is used by CPU to
store data for a short time. It stores data temporarily. It’s mean that the data is erased when
computer turns off.
Ans. Like primary storage device we can store data on secondary storage devices. It can store

microphone etc. the hardware devices are used to show output i.e. monitor, speaker, printer etc.
Ans. Software is a set of programs that helps hardware to perform tasks. We can not touch
computer software. Without software hardware can’t do anything.
Ans. There are two types of computer software. i.e. System software and Application software.
Ans. System software is a type of computer program that is designed to run a computer's hardware
and application programs. It is also known as Operating system
(OS). It converts human language into machine language. For example, Microsoft Windows, MAC
OS are popular operating systems.
Q14. Elaborate the term Application software.
