YEAR 10 MATHEMATICS ACCELERATED

2024 COURSE OUTLINE

THIS OUTLINE IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE!!!

Course Description

This is an Accelerated curriculum. Students in this pathway commenced studying aspects of the Year 10 WA Curriculum last yea r in Year 9.
In Semester 1, students will finish addressing the Year 10 WA curriculum and several aspects of the 10A curriculum so that they can begin
exploring the Methods Unit 1 course in Semester 2. While exploring the Methods Unit 1 course, students will continue to see aspects of the 10A
curriculum as well as revisit some Year 10 curriculum topics.

GRADING

Students will be assessed on the curriculum covered in this course, however the Mathematics grade allocated at the end of each
semester will be a reflection of their progress in relation to the WA Curriculum for Year 10, irrespective of undertaking the
Accelerated Pathway.

A pathway grade will be allocated as this curriculum has been modified, containing aspects of the 10A curriculum which sits
outside the Year 10 Achievement Standard.

Pathway Grades will be given based on the following notion:

A: Working well above expected for this Accelerated course
B: Working above expected for this Accelerated course
C: Working as expected for this Accelerated course
D: Working below expected for this Accelerated course
E: Working well below expected. for this Accelerated course
