Gen Z - LEADERSHIP LEARNING:
REINVENTING FUTURE

• Gen Z are inheriting some of the greatest challenges that our world has faced, but we can
rest assured that they’re going to be more prepared than previous generations. Digital
natives from birth, more connected and empathetic, and with an entrepreneurial spirit,
this seems to be an excellent combination for social entrepreneurship to thrive. Time will
tell.

8 Second Generation

• 8-second rule – When a player has the ball in their own half or
'backcourt', they have 8 seconds to move the ball over the
halfway line into the 'frontcourt'. Otherwise they will lose
possession.

Discipline and nurturing, but

respect and clear and consistent

words, you can do
better. ”

Excerpt From: Daniel J. Siegel. “No-Drama

Discipline.” Apple Books.
Nurturing Discipline
1. Show and tell. – teladan tidak hanya bicara namun teladan lebih “BICARA”
2. Set limits. – batasan – kejelasan dan konsistensi sesuai usia. Makin besar
makin bisa ‘dialog’
3. Give consequences. – tunjukkan kosekuensi dengan tenang dan tegas:
tunjukkan mengapa mesti menjalankan sesuatu. Bolos – malas – tidak rapi:
secara positif
4. Hear them out. – mendengarkan semakin anak ‘bertambah dewasa’
semakin bisa diajak bicara. Bahkan jika anak ‘tiba-tiba’ diam (saat itulah
bicara dari hati penting)
5. Give them your attention. – genuine attention perhatian tulus penuh cinta
diperlukan.
Nurturing Discipline
6. Catch them being good. – baik buruk (jelas) – apresiasi positif dan teguran
cinta saat ada hal negative
7. Know when not to respond. – kapan harus tidak merespon balik – diam
kadang perlu
8. Be prepared for trouble. – persiapkan payung sebelum hujan. – emosi
yang tidak stabil normal
9. Redirect bad behavior. – mengalihkan pada hal positif – saat sesuatu yang
buruk terjadi ajak untuk melihat hal lain.
10. Call a time-out. – stop: berhenti sementara (saat ada ‘ribut’)

DELAYED GRATIFICATION TO EVERY SITUATION
The antidote: cultivate
relationship skills, starting
with empathy. Lacking
empathy, a high-grit go-getter
cares not at all about how his
or her driving ambition
impacts those around them.
Their personal lives crumble;
they are poison to work teams;
and hyper-critical as leaders.
DANIEL GOLEMAN – “PROBLEM
WITH GRIT”
So there’s nothing wrong
with grit per se. Just
balance it with some
emotional intelligence

C. Leadership Humility –
