a) The latching current of an SCR used in phase controlled circuit 04 M CO2 L2


connected to a load of R=10 ohms and L= 0.1 H is 15mA. The input
voltage is 325 sin 314t. Obtain the minimum gate pulse width
required for reliable triggering of SCR, if gated at π/3 angle in every
positive half cycle.
3 b) Describe the operation of single phase Full wave controlled rectifier 12 M CO2 L3
connected to R-L load with neat circuit diagram and waveforms in
discontinuous conduction mode hence obtain the average output
voltage
c) A SCR is controlled from single phase 230V, 50 Hz supply during 04 M CO2 L2
positive half cycle of the ac when connected to R load. If the
conduction angle is 120˚, determine the voltage at which the SCR is
turned ON.

Explain the operation of three phase semi controlled bridge rectifier 14 M CO L3
