    Celebrating the Newborn King!


    Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger. (Luke 2:11-12 NIV) Gods people had been waiting for the Messiah for hundreds of years. December 2010 found us in the midst of our own advent waiting. We werent sure when we would ever get here. And then God showed up. We sensed the time was pregnant and were only at 63% in January; by April we were fully funded. Praise the Lord! He always keeps His promises. This Christmas we celebrate the coming of the long-awaited One, but we also invite you to celebrate with us the birth of our ministry here in Uganda. God long, trying days will come. And we will need a support team. With the ministry at Kampala International University, weve seen a plateau, but we anticipate a big growth spurt this year. At Heritage, Joshs job as chaplain is so new; every day is a learning experience. We have big dreams for these ministries you can read about on the next page, but those dreams can only become reality through the hard work of prayer. Will you join us in raising up these ministries to glorify God ? Glory to God in the highest!

The work isnt over; its only just begun. As infants need love, nourishment, and support, so these infant ministries need you. These are exciting days; everything seems so new, every change a delight, but the

    Uganda Field Declaration We decree that we will seek Jesus first so that through His holy love, lives, churches, and communities are transformed. We will put our hope in the Lord and travel steadily along His path. He will honor us by giving us the land, and we will see the wicked destroyed. In the Name of Jesus we rebuke Satan as a thief and liar. In the Name of Jesus we reclaim the territory (lives, churches, communities, land, buildings, vehicles, finances, families, and marriages) that rightfully belong to God. We will no longer allow Satan to steal, kill and destroy. We will no longer allow Satan to steal our faith or our inheritance. We decree the release of resources to reclaim the territory; finances for the approved budget as well as the missionary ministry funds, land, houses, urban center, and vehicles.

    We decree the release of at least 42 missionaries in the next 10 years to cover the expansion of Uganda, South Sudan, DRC, Burundi, Rwanda, and Tanzania. We decree the release of 1,000 African missionaries from the church and university ministry. And we refuse to allow Satan to block their calling, their funding, their going, or their continued obedience.

    We refuse to allow any spirit of division and complaining to affect the mission God has given us. No weapon formed against us shall prosper. By the blood of Jesus Christ, the author and finisher of our faith, and by His holy name, we make this

    Prayer Requests and 2012 Wildly Important Goals


    On the first page you noticed our goals for 2012. We would appreciate your prayers as we look to see those goals become a reality. The university ministry at KIU is incredibly exciting, and we plan to focus on growing this ministry and seeing it expand to further universities within East Africa. For that reason, we feel led to establish a solid internship program for the student leaders who feel called into ministry. We want to disciple them, provide resources for them, and challenge them to take the step of faith necessary to expand this ministry to other universities. There are ministries already established in at least five other universities (Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania) that have their roots in Kampala. We would love to visit these ministries, see how the leaders are doing , encourage the leaders, and see how we can assist them in continuing their ministry. At Heritage, we are excited that as the school continues to grow, the possibilities for ministry also continue to grow. Heritage has been taking steps to establish a solid middle school program for the 6th, 7th and 8th graders. Next year we are praying about having a specific youth ministry program for this group of students as well. They are an exciting group, and we firmly believe God wants to get ahold of their hearts and use them to do great things in this world. We hope to cast a vision to Heritage to see the chaplaincy program as one that the school owns and makes a full-time position. We see a great need and great potential for a full-time chaplain and are praying that God gives us clarity to demonstrate that need and potential to the board at Heritage.

    Watch Us Grow
    Caleb turned five last week. Yes, five. Its hard to believe we have a five year old! When I woke him on his birthday, he told me, I think I grew while I slept. He was so excited! He and Seth are becoming so independent, which is a joy and a challenge. They are both doing well in school and are learning so much. Its definitely a new experience celebrating Christmas in tropical weather! But our home is decorated, and we are enjoying our advent traditions. Having to re-invent some traditions has stripped away the fluff and forced us to focus on the True Gift. Praying that He is also the center of your celebrations this Christmas!
