Remember that Loss of Candidate's
MUSLIM GIRLS H/S IJEBU-ODE Script is a Criminal Offence that attracts
prosecution.
I have the pleasure of inviting you to participate in the main Coordination Meeting and Marking of scripts
for the subject/paper named below:
1. The Main coordination meeting and marking exercise will be held as follows:
(d) collect the Examiners’ Mark Sheet (EMS) for your centre(s) from the Subject Officer when
all scripts allocated to you have been marked, vetted, recorded and checked;
(e) transfer carefully the scores from the certified Marks and Attendance Sheets into the EMS
and shade accordingly;
(f) sit with your Subject Officer to crosscheck entries;
(g) finally, submit all materials given to you by the Council to the Subject Officer for final
clearance.
NOTE: Any examiner who fails to comply with this progressive method of
submission of vetted scripts will be blacklisted.
8. Irregular Scripts
Any irregular scripts found in the pack should be carefully listed on the appropriate form (i.e. SSCE
FORM R) and handed over to the Subject Officer. The nature of irregularity must also be indicated
in the report. The examiner must write his/her number and endorse the form.
9. Chief Examiners’ Subject Report
To enable the Chief Examiner in your subject write a meaningful report on candidates’
performance, you will be required to sit in conference with your Chief Examiner/Examiner Grade
I/II and other members of your team to discuss candidates’
10. Malpractice
A special form (SSCE FORM D) has been designed to report all suspected cases of examination
malpractice discovered during marking. A sum of N200.00 cash, per centre, will be paid to any
examiner who writes a report for any genuine malpractice detected. It is therefore necessary to
emphasize the need for thorough scrutiny of all scripts marked in order to detect all cases of
examination malpractice.
11. Obligation
You should please note that your appointment as one of the Council’s examiners is confidential.
You are not expected to disclose this fact to take any advantage for yourself (e.g. by mentioning it
to candidates whose scripts may be marked by you or in any book/newspaper articles published
by you or in application for jobs, etc).
12. Offences and Disciplinary Measures
Acts such as absconding with scripts, impersonation, farming out of scripts, alteration of scores,
loss of scripts, mutilation of EMS, etc, constitute examination offences punishable under
Examination Malpractice Decree (NO. 33) of 1999.
13. Host Premises
Examiners are kindly requested to obey the rules and regulations that operate in the premises of
their host institution.
14. Examiner’s Current Addresses
All examiners are requested to ensure that their current contact/email addresses and phone
numbers are reflected on the final list of examiners, compiled in order of seniority, at the marking
venue.
16. Acceptance
Examiners reporting for this conference marking are deemed to have accepted the conditions
stipulated in this letter. Trade union activities by examiners will not be allowed.

nation.
