(a) Both Assertion (A) and Reason (R) are True and
Reason (R) is the correct explanation of the Assertion.
(b) Both Assertion (A) and Reason (R) are True but
Reason (R) is not the correct explanation of the
Assertion.
(c) Assertion (A) is True but Reason (R) is False.
(d) Assertion (A) is False but Reason (R) is True.

product is 3072. Then their L.C.M.= 162.
Reason(R): If a and b are two positive integers, then H.C.F. x
L.C.M = a x b.
2.Assertion (A): Number n when divided by 15 gives the
remainder 2. Then the remainder is same when n is divided by
5.
Reason(R): √3 is an irrational number.
3.Assertion (A): 2 is an example of a rational number.
Reason (R): The square roots of all positive integers are
irrational numbers.
4.Assertion (A): For any two positive integers p and q, HCF (p,
q) x LCM (p, q) = p x q
Reason (R): If the HCF of two numbers is 5 and their product is
150. then their LCM is 40.
5.Assertion (A): √𝑥 is an irrational number, where x is a prime
number.
Reason (R): Square Root of any prime number is an irrational
number.
6.Assertion (A): If the least prime factor of a composite
number 'a' is 3 and the least prime factor of
another composite 'b' is 7 then least prime factor of a + b is 2.
Reason (R): 'a' is an odd number and 'b’ is also an odd number.
so a + b is an even number whose least prime factor is 2.
7.Assertion (A): Denominator of 34.12345. When expressed in
the form p/q, q≠ 0. is of the form 2m x .5n. where m and n ate
non-negative integers.
Reason (R): 34.12345 is a terminating decimal fraction.
8.Assertion (A):13/3125 is a terminating decimal fraction.
Reason (R): If q=2n.5m where n and m are non-negative
integers, then p/q is a terminating decimal fraction.
9.Assertion (A): When a positive integer a is divided by 3, the
values of remainder can be 0, 1 or 2.
Reason (R): According to Euclid's Division Lemma a= bq + r,
where 0 ≤ r < b and r is an integer,
10.Assertion (A): A number N when divided by 15 gives the
remainder 2. Then the remainder is same when N is divided by
5.
Reason(𝑅 ) ∶ √3 is an irrational number.
11.Assertion If the product of two integers is 15 x 72 and their
LCM is 360 then their HCF = 3
Reason (R): LCM x product of integers = HCF
12.Assertion 3 X 5 X 17 + 19 is prime number
Reason √3 is an irrational number.
13.Assertion 3 X 5 X 7 + 7 is a composite number.
Reason A composite number has factors one. itself and any
other natural number.
14.Assertion 3 divide 93 and 5 divides 0.
Reason (R): A non-zero integer a is said to divide an integer b
if there exists an integer c such that b=ac.
15.Assertion If the HCF of two numbers is 5 and their product
is 150, then their LCM is 40.
Reason For any two positive integers p and q. HCF (p. q) x LCM
(p. q) = p x q.
16.Assertion 12n ends with the digit zero, where n is any
natural number.
Reason (R): Any number ends with digit zero, if its prime factor
is of the form 2m x 5n where m
and n are natural numbers.
17.Assertion (A): Sum of a rational number and an irrational
number is always an irrational number.
Reason(R):(2 + √3) + (2 — √3) = 4
18.Assertion (A): HCF of two numbers is 17 and their product is
5780, then their LCM is 340.
Reason (R): HCF of two positive numbers is always a factor of
their LCM.
19.Assertion (A): 2 is an example of a rational number.
Reason (R): The square of all irrational numbers are rational
numbers.
20.Assertion (A): For any two positive integers p and q, HCF (p,
q) x LCM (p, q): p x q.
Reason (R): If HCF of two number is 5 and their product is 150,
then their LCM is 40.
21.Assertion(A): HCF (23.37) =1.
Reason (R): If p and q are prime numbers, then HCF (p.q)=1
22.Assertion (A): √7 is an irrational number.
Reason (R): Square root of all positive integers are irrational
numbers.
23.Assertion (A): The product of (7- √11 ) (5 + √11 ) is an
irrational number.
Reason (R): The product of two irrational numbers is always an
irrational number.
24.Assertion (A): HCF and LCM of two natural numbers are 24
and 900 respectively.
