Job Description for thermal Insulators, Sheet Metal Fitter, Sheet Metal Fabricator, Insulation Supervisor,

Painters & Blasters, Painting Inspector (NACE certified), Painting & Blasting Supervisor
Thermal Insulators: - Role & Responsibilities

 Preparing and cleaning surface to be insulated as per ITP.


 Planning where to put insulation by referring to drawing designs.
 Choosing the best materials and tools to use for a particular job.
 Measuring and cutting insulation materials to required size.
 Inspect tools and tackles required to start the job.
 Fastening insulation using clips, strip, adhesives or wire band.
 Covering the insulated equipment with sheet metal cladding to protect it from damage or bad weather.
 Inform the supervisor about the materials & tools shortage, damage or loss.
 Removing old insulation like asbestos, in line with health and safety regulations.
 To perform scaffolding work as required only for insulation works (amended if scaffold scope with another contractor).

Sheet Metal Fitter: - Role & Responsibilities

 Read and interpret drawing & print.


 Using sheets of various materials, measures and mark guidelines to be used for insulation and fabrication.
 Measuring the area for new cladding and calculating the number of sheets needed.
 Laying out sheets, measuring and marking, shaping and cutting them to required size.
 Together with other team members hoisting sheets up by hand or by using equipment and positioning them on surface to be jacketed.
 Using hand tools drilling, screwdriver, screws to fix the sheets, sealing the joints between sheets.
 Perform heavy equipment work involving climbing, rigging and exposure to high pressure hydraulic in accordance with all company safety
procedures.
 Install all products related to vapor barriers, insulation jacketing sheets, fastening.
 Safely operate a variety of sheet metal equipment’s & tools.
Sheet metal fabricator: - Role & Responsibilities
 Interpret engineering drawings, measure meticulously and plan to reduce waste.
 Mark cutting and bending lines including elbow, tee, insulation box, cap end etc.
 Measure to prepare final cladding sheets request to be fabricated.
 Ensure, nothing is pending for measurement and sketch drawing.
 Set up & operate metal work machinery in workshop including roller, folder, former, cutter, brakes, drill and
shears press.
 Follow all safety regulations including the equipment’s check list.
 Maintaining logbooks record.
Insulation Supervisor: - Role & Responsibilities
 Directly supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in applying insulating material to exposed
surfaces of equipment, such as boilers, tanks, air ducts, pipes, heat exchanger.
 Estimate materials, tools, workers requirement to complete a job.
 Assigns workers to specific duties, examine performance of workers.
 Demonstrates to new workers techniques of cutting and applying insulation.
 Examine and inspect work progress, equipment and construction sites to verify safety and to ensure that
specifications are met.
 Train workers in construction methods, operation of equipment, safety procedures and company policies
 Resolve employee grievances and provide training to be applied insulation as per quality control procedures.
 Pre-inspection at each stage prior to requesting client inspection and ensure the quality meets the
specification prior to contacting clients.
 Coordinate work activities with other construction project activities for scheduling and completion
Painters & Blasters: - Role & Responsibilities: -
 Prepare surfaces for coating application using hand tools, power tools and blasting equipment etc. as per ITP.
 Apply coating to surfaces by use of brush roller, conventional spray, thermal spray and other specialty coating
applications.
 Clean and store paint tools and equipment after use.
 Maintain a clean and organized job site free from any unnecessary hazards associated with the work being
performed by a paint crews.
 Measure and mixing paint with paint mixer.
 Monitor and maintaining a breath air box during blasting operations.
 Monitor and maintaining paint and blast pots during paint operations.
 Coordinate with supervisor about materials shortage or loss, storing and disposing of chemicals, follow HSE
rules applicable.

Painting Inspector (NACE certified): - Role & responsibilities description


 Performing report on the QA/QC activities such as daily progress reports, whether report, pain consumption,
surface preparation report and painting testing report
 Implementing the company’s quality assurance procedures and maintain the quality system in accordance
with the project quality plan and NACE & ISO documentation.
 Encompassing & supervising the activities related to painting report.
 Working closely with the supervisor and base for requirement for carrying out speed progress of work,
interfacing with the client and taking feedback from him and ensuring that client is satisfied regarding quality.
 Overseeing operation of instruments for the smoother execution of activities.
 Implementing the international standard (NACE, SSPC and ISO) & finishing the surface cleanliness activities
accordingly.Assuring that the profile and cleanliness of surface after blasting is free from chloride ,rust and
dust.
 Inspecting the coating process and maintenance of suitable environment condition.
 Applying paint with help of proper paint mechanism.

Painting & Blasting Supervisor: - Role & responsibilities description


 Comply with the specification, control and monitoring the activities.
 Ensure the blasting and painting activities are carried out as per the specification.
 Responsible for complete quality control for blasting and painting works, procedures, standards.
 Inspect the delivered paint materials with batch numbers and ensure the materials tally with the
specifications.
 Take the ambient conditions with the proper intervals and maintain the record.
 Arrange the qualification test for blaster/painter and certify them.
 Check the calibration date for the measuring devices before commencing the project and arrange for re-
calibration if it expires.
 Maintain the measuring tools safe and tidy.
 Notification of inspection should be sent to the inspector and respective clients on time.
 Pre-inspection at each stage prior to requesting client inspection and ensure the quality meets the
specification prior to contacting clients.
 All the non-conformance observations should be closed and get client approval.
