PRELIMINARIES The session began at 3:30 pm with an opening prayer led by

DISCUSSION The Resource Speaker was Mrs. Amy jane A.Romasanta and her
topic is all about Differentiated Instructions. She stated that
Differentiated instruction is the practice of developing an
understanding of how each student learns best, and then
tailoring instruction to meet students' individual needs. She then
asked why is differentiated

Instruction important in the classroom and the Kindergarten


Teachers shared the following answers.

 Differentiated Instruction is important in the classroom,


because different types of learners.
 Differentiated Instructions is important because learners
have different ways of learning in the classroom, too.
 Tailoring instruction can help meet their diverse needs
when delivered effectively.
The Resource Speaker also discussed some Differentiated
Instruction Strategies. We can differentiate instruction across
four main areas:

 Content
The teachers consider the objective of a lesson, then
provide students with flexible options about the content.
 Process-With process differentiation, teachers
differentiate how students learn.
 Environment-Grouping students based on their individual
readiness.

 Product-Another is varying the way concepts are taught:
through visual, auditory, or kinesthetic lessons, for
example.
The Resource Speaker also presented the benefits of
Differentiated Instructions

 It helps the teachers connect with different learning


styles.
 Giving learners choices about how they learn enables
them to meet learning objectives in the best way for
them.
 Gives all learners the opportunity to keep pace with
learning objectives.
 Motivates learners to learn the material in a way
conducive to their own interests and unique learning
styles.

Next, she discussed How to Implement Differentiated


Instruction.

Differentiated instruction must be standards-based. First steps


for teachers should include diagnostic testing and learning
inventories. Your goal is to set baselines for individual students.
Then you can identify tactics to help each student achieve the
objectives and deliver custom-tailored content.
Differentiated instruction is evident when teachers:
 Offer students options to choose from in assignments or
lesson plans.
 Provide multiple texts and types of learning materials.
 Utilize a variety of personalized learning methods and
student assessments.
 Customize teaching to suit multiple forms of intelligence.
Lastly, the Resource Speaker stated that, for differentiated
instruction to be SUCCESSFUL, teachers must clearly explain the
learning goals and the criteria for success.

PLANNING is a must so the teachers need


 Sufficient TIME
 VARIETY of learning materials
 Enough SPACE for learning stations
 Learning GAUGE
AGREEMENT/ In conclusion, the GRADE-1 Teachers realized how important
CONCLUSION differentiated instructions in the teaching-learning process is,
because it assists teachers in connecting with different learning
