b. Customer
Edunet's current customer base is primarily businesses that rely on the company's
sensors to monitor environmental factors in their offices or to prevent the influence of
temperature air on their equipment. For instance, QTSC, VNPT, HSBC,… have used
Edunet's sensors in their offices. Edunet's smart solutions, such as the SmartEyes product,
are also used by businesses, which helps businesses identify violations, record, and
extract evidence for security work with AI application. The SmartEyes product is
currently being used by businesses, such as QTSC, and has been credited with helping to
prevent theft and vandalism.
In addition to its work with businesses, Edunet also partners with government
agencies to develop and install environmental sensor stations. For example, the company
has worked with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Tien Giang
Province to develop and install environmental sensor stations in Cho Gao Province.
These stations aim to contribute to the industrialization of salinity measurement by
providing accurate and up-to-date information on salinity levels. The information from

6
the stations is processed by 4.0 software that can be used on smartphones, making it easy
for people to access.
Edunet's Smart Eyes product is also trusted by government agencies such as
Hepza, the administration of Ho Chi Minh City's industrial and export processing zones.
Smart Eyes uses advanced technologies in safety management and surveillance (CCTV)
to help government agencies prevent crime and improve security.

5. Performance of the Company
Edunet's profit will come from selling products to businesses and the government
sector. The time it takes to study and produce a project is lengthier than it is for items for
individual consumers since the company's products are frequently modified to match the
unique demands of enterprises. However, the profit made from each project is
significantly higher, occasionally going as high as $40,000. In addition to its mature
products such as Environmental Sensors or Smart Eyes, Monitor Stations, Edunet is also
planning to develop new products in the fields of fire protection, document management,
and other applications of AI and Metaverse.

II. INTERNSHIP ACTIVITY
1. Internship Activity
During my internship at Edunet, I had diverse roles across R&D,
Marketing, and HR. However, my main focus was on new product development and
marketing operations in the Marketing and R&D departments.
a.a R&D Department
At Edunet, I contributed to developing innovative fire protection products,
including an IoT-enabled Exit Sign and Emergency Light. My specific activities in the
R&D department included:
- Conducting market research: I and my colleagues conducted a survey of the
market to identify the needs and challenges of building management and technical
management in fire protection equipment maintenance. The research findings
indicated that fire protection equipment maintenance activities were predominantly
manual, necessitating building technicians to individually inspect each device,
resulting in a time-consuming and inefficient process, particularly in large buildings.
- Developing prototypes: Based on the findings of our market research, we worked
with engineers to develop prototypes of the Exit Sign and Emergency Light products.
These products were equipped with an IoT system that would transmit information
about the battery life, LED status, and LED performance to users through phones and
computers. This would enable maintenance personnel to simply monitor the state of
fire prevention equipment from a distance.
- Testing and evaluation: We conducted extensive testing and evaluation of the
prototypes to ensure their performance and safety. For example, we discovered that
adding more gadgets drastically reduced the light's battery life. We collaborated with
engineers to identify solutions to this issue. We also attempted to cut product costs
throughout testing.

a.b Marketing Department
In addition to my work in the R&D department, I also had the opportunity to
participate in the company's marketing activities. These activities included:
- Personal selling: I prepared marketing materials and presented our products
to Acecook, a large customer of Edunet. The goal of this presentation was to discuss
how our products could help Acecook reduce the time and cost of their time attendance
process.I had the opportunity to present our products directly to Acecook and other
potential customers.

10

upgrade system
- Public relations: Edunet's office is located in the R&D lab of QTSC, which
means that we often have delegations visiting our office. I had the opportunity to
introduce the company's products to these delegations and to answer their questions about
our products and services.

- Technology fair: I am currently participating in the preparation for a
technology fair that Edunet will be participating in in August. This includes preparing
presentations about the products that we will be introducing at the fair.
- Website Design/ Writing Blog and News for Website: During my
internship at Edunet, I participated in the design of the company's website and updated
news about EduNet participating in technology seminars and fairs. This gave me the
opportunity to use my skills in content writing.

a. c Human Resources Department
In addition to my work in the R&D and marketing departments, I also had the
opportunity to participate in the company's human resources department. I was
responsible for the recruitment of a front-end developer position. This involved:
- Outlining the position's requirements: I discussed with the manager, Mr. Tuan
Anh, to learn more about the qualifications they were seeking in a candidate.
- Writing the job description: I came up with a job description that included the
responsibilities as well as the requirements of the role.
- Posting the position on social media: For reaching a larger pool of prospective
applicants, I listed the position on social media sites including LinkedIn, Facebook, and
Ybox.
- Screening resumes: I looked over resumes and chose the top 7 prospects for
interviews.
Thanks to my efforts, we were able to hire two persons for the position out of
more than 50 resumes that we received.

13
Figure 9: Using Ybox to recruiment front-end developer.
2. Evaluation and suggestion the performance of each function
I had the opportunity to intern in three departments at Edunet: R&D, marketing,
and human resourcesI identified that each part had certain advantages and challenges of
its own.
It can be claimed about the R&D division that its engineers were very inventive
and imaginative, continually coming up with new product concepts, and showing a
willingness to experiment. In order to create items that were specifically catered to
consumer wants, the department also excelled in conducting market research and
understanding client needs. On the other hand, the department's concentration on
accuracy and dedication to producing high-quality goods might occasionally impede the
development process, delaying the official launch of new items.
As for the marketing department, their approach was highly organized and
efficient. Additionally, the department has strong writing and design abilities, which
contributed in efficiently conveying the company's services to the intended market.
However, the department's emphasis on quick wins occasionally resulted in a lack of
attention to long-term growth and brand building. This may have resulted in the firm

14
missing out on opportunities to establish a solid reputation with clients. Making a
thorough long-term marketing plan might help you overcome the issue of being
excessively focused on short-term objectives. This action plan can lay out the business'
marketing goals for the next three years and focus on marketing techniques that will help
it meet its long-term goals and develop a reputable name among consumers.
The HR division showed a high degree of professionalism and assistance to the
workforce. They constantly shown a desire to support workers in developing new abilities, and
they were accessible to answer questions and offer direction. Additionally, the department
promoted a happy and encouraging work atmosphere, which boosted staff morale. Nevertheless,
the HR division also has to deal with a lot of Gen Z workers leaving their jobs. Edunet might
address these issues by giving chances for personal growth, flexible work schedules, ...

3. Working environment and company's corporate culture in Edunet

Edunet is a technology startup company that has a different working environment
and company culture than developed large corporations. This is due to the nature of
Edunet, which is a smaller and more agile company.
With a focus on flexibility, Edunet offers telecommuting and flextime options,
allowing employees to achieve a healthy work-life balance. For example, Edunet allows
employees to leave the office early if there is an employee emergency without too much
formality.
Another key feature of Edunet's corporate culture is its focus on collaboration and
teamwork. Edunet has created a culture of collaboration by encouraging employees to
share their ideas and feedback. This helps me feel like I am part of a team and that their
contributions are valued.
In addition, Edunet empowers employees to make decisions. This gives employees
a sense of ownership and responsibility, which can be motivating. For example, Edunet
empowers employees by giving them more responsibility and autonomy in their day-to-
day work.

15
Finally, Edunet fosters an environment of openness and feedback. It suggests that
people working there receive feedback on their job and are kept up to date on the status
of the business. Employees may perform better and feel more a part of the organization as
a result. For instance, I receive frequent comments on my work that is both good and
undesirable, which motivates me to perform effectively. Additionally, Edunet recognizes
employees' accomplishments by praising them in front of the public or by offering them
little gifts or awards. In fact, after successfully presenting our product to Acecook, I
earned praise from my coworkers and my superiors, which pushed me to work even
harder.

III. ASSESSMENT OF THE INTERNSHIP

1. Skills and Qualifications
Through my internship at Edunet in the Research and Development, Marketing,
and Human Resources departments, I gained a wide range of skills, including soft skills,
technical skills, and industry-specific knowledge, which have equipped me for future
professional roles.

In terms of Soft Skill, I have developed my communication, teamwork, and

problem-solving skills through my work in the Marketing and Human Resources
departments. I have learned how to effectively communicate with customers, collaborate
with colleagues in a team environment, In addition, My problem-solving skill is
improving when there are a lot of errors arise during product developmentAs an outcome,
I have developed my capacity to work well in groups.

I have technical competence in product creation, testing, and assessment thanks to

my employment in the R&D department. Future careers requiring a comparable set of

16
technical skills will find value in my ability to create and test things utilizing a number of
IoT-related technologies and applications. I have learned how to use various tools and
software to design and test products, which will be useful in future roles that involve
similar technical skills. Specifically when in the process of preparing hardware for a fire
protection product, I learned how to solder wires together and use soldering equipment as
well as the use of additional devices such as 16 Channel Analog Multiplexer 74HC4067,
or ESP8266 NodeMCU Wifi Transceiver Circuit which are added to upgrade existing fire
protection devices with IOT technology. Besides, the internship at Edunet also provided
me with UX/UI skills when I was designing the dashboard, website for this product.
Additionally, I have gained experience in roles that require digital marketing and
advertising skills.

My internship at Edunet's R&D department provided me with industry-specific

expertise in fire protection equipment maintenance and how Edunet's solutions handle
related difficulties. This knowledge qualifies me for positions in building or facility
management. In addition, I worked on Internet of Things, studying how technology
improves fire prevention systems by gathering data, monitoring systems, and sending
alarms.
2. How I change after Internship at Edunet?
My internship at Edunet exceeded my expectations since it allowed me to work
across several departments, resulting in in-deep understanding of the business and the
need of teamwork. The opportunity was beneficial when I have gotten insights into real-
world company operations, with an emphasis on efficient communication and teamwork.
Initially focusing on the Marketing department, I quickly realized the need of
researching other parts of the organization. While the concept appeared daunting at first, I
rapidly understood the advantages of this diverse approach. Interacting with colleagues
and learning about other departments helped me understand how each team contributes to
the company's overall success. The interaction between departments directly underscored
the need of collaborative efforts toward common goals.

17
This internship provided me essential hands-on experience. It provided a realistic
view on how organizations operate and emphasized the significance of teamwork and
communication in the workplace. Furthermore, I improve to value the different skill sets
and experience that each department brings to the table, recognizing their potential for
driving innovation and providing greater solutions.
3. How it affects my future plan?
I got a better grasp of the industries I want to work in and the kinds of businesses I
want to be a part of via my internship at Edunet. I discovered that I'm interested in
working for technology businesses in particular. There were several reasons that led to
the development of this idea.
First of all, when I intern at the Edunet, the ideathat technology would still be a
crucial topic in the future become more stronger in me. It is obvious that, as the world
grows more and more digital, technological advances anticipates having an enormous
effect on how things progress in the future. Therefore, working for a technology company
would place me at the cutting edge of this transition and provide me the chance to
contribute to revolutionary ideas that will alter the world.
Second, I discovered that the climate at startups is best suited for those who enjoy
taking chances and continuously seek for creative ways to blend in. I liked the fast-paced,
exciting environment at Edunet, and I think my future career will flourish in this kind of
setting. As a result, I can help you stand out from the competition when you seek for
employment after graduation using the abilities you learnt at Edunet. The opportunities
that lay ahead excite me, and I am eager to pursue a career in a sector that I am passionate
about.
4. Relationship between Classroom Knowledge and Internship Success
The study of project management and marketing principles would have
substantially improved my internship experience. For individuals, project management is
an essential skill, especially in the area of business administration. It includes efficient
project planning, management, and execution. I could have more effectively managed my
time and resources during my internship if I had this expertise. Another crucial subject

18
for me is marketing principles. The ability to identify client demands and create efficient
marketing strategies during my internship would have been made possible by having a
solid understanding of marketing principles. Additionally, courses in public speaking and
business analytics would have been valuable. In today's data-driven world, it is more
important to use data to guide business choices, which is what business analytics entails.
Understanding business analytics would have allowed me to give my team more
insightful information while I was an intern. Employees need to be adept in public
speaking in order to communicate effectively with larger audiences. I would have been
more confident and competent in making presentations during my internship if I had
learned public speaking techniques.
5. Final Lessons and Suggestions
For a longterm development, quality has become a crucial component of every
business because It is crucial to provide customers with the highest-quality goods or
services that are specifically catered to their demands. Quality required thorough
planning, close attention to detail, and ongoing development. For instance, when working
on hardware development, I became aware of how important it is to guarantee product
quality right up until the point of production in order to prevent issues down the road and
related expenditures.
Similarly, I saw the need for innovation in business. In order to expand and
succeed, it was critical to innovate and create new concepts and products. Fostering
innovation required research, imagination, and risk-taking. For example, I worked on a
project where we conducted significant research to identify a market demand for a new
form of learning software. We then created a well-received prototype that demonstrated
the power of creativity.
In addition to quality and creativity, I learned the value of having the proper
mindset. Maintaining a readiness to learn, demonstrating humility, and maintaining self-
belief were identified as essential criteria. Accepting challenges, no matter how difficult,
was critical. These attitudes aided personal and professional development. For example,
presenting a project for a large firm like Acecook was first intimidating, but I saw it as a

19
good learning opportunity. Finally, effectively directing the project allowed me to learn
more about myself.
Furthermore, my internship experience indicated a true interest in
entrepreneurship. I discovered a passion for the challenges that come with starting a
business and developing something new. The freedom and flexibility that come with
being your own employer boosted my passion even further. With the information and
abilities I gained throughout my internship, I am excited to pursue my business dreams.
After reflecting on my internship experience, I discovered several areas for
improvement. To provide students with critical expertise, the School of Business should
consider adding more courses on business analytics and public speaking. Furthermore,
providing chances for students to cooperate on real-world projects with businesses would
allow for the actual implementation of acquired principles. Implementing mentoring
programs that match students with seasoned professionals would also give vital insight
and support.
Furthermore, I suggest that the organization where I interned clearly establish
intern goals and expectations and create more opportunity for professional development
and progress.
I actively looked for learning opportunities and accepted new challenges to
improve my personal internship experience. I actively solicited feedback from
supervisors and coworkers, as well as participated in self-reflection to discover areas for
growth. I also broadened my professional network, attended relevant events, and explored
extra learning opportunities outside of the boundaries of my internship.

20
IV. CONCLUSION
My internship with Edunet was a fantastic learning experience. I learned a lot
about the value of quality and innovation in the technology startup industry. I also learnt
about the sector's issues and potential. I conclude that quality and innovation are critical
for success in any firm, but they are more critical in the constantly developing and ever-
changing technology startup industry. To thrive, businesses in this area must be adaptable
and adaptive.
I am glad for the chance to intern at Edunet. I will never forget working with my
mentor, Mr. Diep, who taught me plenty about the business world. I'm also thankful for
the friendships I formed with my other interns. We laughed a lot and faced a lot of
obstacles together, and I believe these friendships will endure a lifetime. More
importantly, I am excited to watch how the technological landscape of startup business
changes in the coming years, and I aim to be a part of it.

21
I will always treasure the memories I had from my internship at Edunet. It was a
genuinely unforgettable event that helped to make me who I am today because of the
chance to have gained such vital knowledge.
