Food is stored in the human body as Glycogen.
Glycogen is stored in the Liver and muscles.
During starvation, the body first uses Glycogen stores. Fats are stored in the human body in Adipose tissue. The sweetest sugar is Fructose. Sucrose is a Disaccharide. Lactose is found only in mammals. The sugar found in the hemolymph of insects is Trehalose. The sugar found in ATP is Ribose. Lactose is composed of Glucose and Galactose. Galactose is available in the human body by the hydrolysis of Milk. Blood group proteins in humans are composed of glycoproteins. For quick energy, one should use Carbohydrates. The formation of glucose from non-carbohydrate material is called Gluconeogenesis.
