First of all, I’m glad that you can support a Brazilian maker and transform
the handmade business even more sustainable. I’m pretty sure you will
love to make this dress as much as I had fun doing it.
For a handmade life,
Marie
This pattern was written in US Terms | Translated by Camila França.
Materials:
Scissors
In case you wish to replace Amigurumi Soft for other yarn, follow
suggestions below: - Balloon yarn (Pingouin/Brazil)
- Amigurumi (Kartopu/Turkish)
Yarn with similar thickness (weight) but different compositions:
- Amigurumi (Círculo/Brazil) - 100% cotton
- Alabama (Katia Yarns /Spain) - 50% acrylic, 50% cotton
- Tricot Estrela yarn (Croche Estrela/Portugal) - 100% cotton
- Duna (Círculo/Brazil) - 100% cotton
- Barroco 4 (Círculo/Brazil) - 100% cotton
- Charme (Círculo/Brazil) - 100% cotton → using this yarn you may
have to adapt the pattern or use double thread to achieve the same
result.
For this project it is important that your crochet stitch tension don’t be
too tight. This dress has a fluid shape, not so structured, so make a
tension gauge before starting this project because you may have to use
a thicker crochet hook.

- Slip stitch
- Single crochet

- For all sizes (S/M/L): chain until you reach 80cm (approx. 92
chains)
I strongly recommend that all adult sizes start with the same number
of chains, once this measure (80cm) was defined to fit all different
head sizes. We’re going to start the dress for the neckline, so keep in
mind that the instructions for increasing different sizes will be along
the written pattern, not in crochet chart. In order to make child sizes
or custom-made, adjust the neckline to the person’s body
measurements. That can change a little bit the math of the dress, but
always think to compensate each step of the project in a proportional
way (32% of foundation chains to front/back, 18% of foundation
chains to each sleeve).

Note: If you want to make a few more rows and shape the armholes
later, no problem! Remember that the more rows you make in this
early part of the dress, the larger will be the armholes and body part.
So it's time to try on your body and make necessary adjustments to fit
you perfectly! With the number of stitches I used to divide armholes
and body in this project the size S dress will be oversized fitting,
standard fit for size M and tight to size L. It is important that the
armhole is adjusted in a way that you feel comfortable wearing it, so
you must try on in your own body to choose where to shape them!
In order to make a division between armholes and body, I used the
corners. For that, fold the work in half and shape two holes (armholes)
in the edges. Place the hook in the first stitch from the armhole with
the Greenery color yarn and chain 7 (or 8). Join to the “back” part of
the armhole with a slip stitch and finish. Do the same thing in the
other armhole. Reserve the yarn.
Hint: If you want to make more chains, the body part will get wider
too.
