Study carefully basic ARENA functionalities (modules) using attached models 3-1, 3-2, 3-3, 3-4 and 3-5 (Simple Processing System). Follow strictly text from chapter 3 3. Perform simulation runs of above models. 4. Build your own model of a simple processing system consisted of several work stations (at least 2) assuming every work station is performing parallel processing 5. Perform simulation run of your model. Make five replications of the model (Run > Setup > Replication Parameters). Look at the output and note how the performance measures vary across replications. 6. Implement the double-time arrival modification to your model. Make five replications and compare the results obtained. 7. Lenghten the run of the model to 8 hours (one replication). Implement the additional statistic-collection function and add a plot that tracks the total number of parts in the system (WIP) over time. 8. Prepare written report of all your simulation experiments documenting significant elements of the simulation and duscussion of results obtained. Laboratory no 2 (week 5): ARENA Simulation Modeling (2) ARENA Simulation Modeling. Laboratory no 2. 1.Read chapter 4 Modeling Basic Operations and Inputs 2.Study carefully ARENA functionalities (modules) using attached models 4-1, 4-2, 4-3, 4-4 and 4-5 (An Electronic Assembly and Test System). Follow strictly text from chapter 4. 3. Perform simulation runs of all above models. 4. Build your own model by expanding the previous model of the Simple Proces-sing System. In particular add a decision station assuming that parts after leaving last work station will require an expection. 5. Perform simulation run of your model.
6. Prepare written report of all your simulation experiments documenting significant elements of the experiments made and duscussion of obtained results. Laboratory no 3 (week 6): ARENA Simulation Modeling (3) ARENA Simulation Modeling. Laboratory no 3. 1.Read chapter 5 Modeling Detailed Operations 2.Study carefully ARENA advanced functionalities (modules) using attached models 5-1, 5-2, 5-3 and 5-4 (A Call Center System). Follow strictly text from chapter 5. 3. Perform simulation runs of all above models. 4. Build your own model by expanding the previous model of the Simple Proces-sing System from exercise 2. In particular use the animation functionality (use an Animate toolbar). Time of performing particular activity is machine-depen-dent (in the case of parallel mode of processing). 5. Perform simulation run of your model. 6. Assume different types of products have to be processed. Modify your model. 7. Parts are transported between work stations. Use the Advanced Transfer panel in order to model material-handling activities (like transporters and conveyors). Perform simulation run of your enhanced model. 8. Prepare written report of your all simulation experiments documenting significant elements of conducted experiments and duscussion of obtained results. ARENA Simulation Modeling. Design work no 1. Building own simulation model 1.Build complete simulation model of a system described in exercise 2 using Activity Cycle Diagram. Use ARENA functionalities which are
significant in the case of your model. 2.Perform simulation run of your model and calculate key performance parameters (non-standard, if necessary) of your system. 3.Propose some improvements of your system and modify its simulation model. 4.Perform simulation run of the improved model and calculate again key performance parameters. 3. Prepare written report of all simulation experiments with your model documenting significant elements of conducted experiments and duscussion of obtained results.
