    Jeddah, located on the western coast of Saudi Arabia along the Red Sea, is the

    country's second-largest city and a major commercial hub. Known as the "Gateway
    to Mecca," Jeddah plays a vital role in the annual Hajj pilgrimage, welcoming
    millions of Muslims from around the world. Its strategic position as a port city has
    made it a center of trade and commerce for centuries, connecting trade routes

    The city's rich history dates back to around 500 BC, making it one of the oldest
    cities in the region. Jeddah’s Old Town, known as Al-Balad, is a UNESCO World
    Heritage Site characterized by narrow alleys, traditional coral-stone buildings, and
    iconic souqs (markets). Al-Balad offers a glimpse into the city’s past, with its
    charming architecture and historical landmarks like the Nassif House, which served
    as a cultural and political hub during the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

    In recent years, Jeddah has undergone significant modernization while maintaining


    its cultural heritage. The city boasts a stunning coastline, with the Jeddah Corniche
    stretching over 30 kilometers along the Red Sea, offering breathtaking views,
    recreational areas, and a variety of cafes and restaurants. Jeddah is also home to
    the iconic King Fahd Fountain, the tallest of its kind in the world, which has become
    a symbol of the city.

    Jeddah's economy is diverse, driven by sectors such as trade, tourism,


    manufacturing, and finance. It is also a hub for art and culture, with numerous
    galleries, exhibitions, and festivals that celebrate both traditional and contemporary
    art. The city hosts the annual Red Sea International Film Festival, which highlights
    the region’s growing film industry.

    The culinary scene in Jeddah reflects its diverse population and global influences,
    offering everything from traditional Saudi dishes to international cuisine. The city’s
    shopping destinations, such as Red Sea Mall and Mall of Arabia, cater to various
    tastes, blending local boutiques with global brands.

    As Saudi Arabia continues to diversify its economy under Vision 2030, Jeddah is set
    to play a pivotal role in the Kingdom’s transformation. With projects like Jeddah
    Tower, which aims to be the tallest skyscraper in the world, and the development of
    waterfront areas, the city is looking toward a future that balances modernity with
    tradition, making it a dynamic and vibrant place to live, work, and visit.
