and Sustainability

CP&S
TOP IMPROVEMENTS/ACTIONS TO PURSUE
1. Bolster Delivery & Supply Performance
Service gaps were the top complaint. Extended lead times, incomplete orders, late deliveries, and lack of flexibility were all
mentioned multiple times. Frustrations are exacerbated by a perceived lack of interest to address complaints in several
cases.
2. Improve Ease of Doing Business
Many complained that Amcor is far too bureaucratic and complicated to work with—simple requests and questions are often
delayed—customers must regularly follow up.

3. Focus on Care for the Customer

Customers sense that Amcor has become more inwardly focused—caring less about the customer.

4. Accelerate Innovation Speed

Despite Amcor’s impressive capabilities, slow responses to requests and lengthy development timelines cost the business
new opportunities.

5. Expand Sustainability Support

New business growth will occur with sustainable solutions. Amcor is winning the race with some accounts. With others,
Amcor is trailing competitors.

6. Rethink Pricing Approach/Contract Process

Customers are frustrated—some even offended—with Amcor’s approach to pricing and contracts.

Step 1
Understand your current packaging's carbon
footprint impact using ASSET

Step 2 *
Move to recycle-ready packaging

Step 3A *
Understand if paper-based solutions meet your product and
market needs

Step 3B
Look at additional circular options – recycled content and
lightweighting

Step 4
Consider biobased materials to further
reduce carbon footprint

* f ees per unit are lower v s incumbent non-RR plastic. Total weight of the

Understand the environmental impact of your packaging
Understanding the often invisible impacts of your packaging can be difficult.
How do you choose the right packaging solution?
ASSET gives the data you need.

• Recyclable is only an attribute of the packaging

• Life-Cycle Assessment (LCA) provides a holistic view PackagingThe packaging

• Environmental performance should be at least maintained

or improved when switching to packaging that’s designed
to be recyclable, to avoid transfer of burden

Biobased as a drop in solution to reduce CO2

Considerations
▪ ‘Drop-in’ bio-based polyolefins are a recyclable alternative to
conventional plastics

Definition ▪ Bio-based (renewable) ≠ compostable ≠ biodegradable

Materials derived from
renewable sources such as ▪ Bio-based materials are also available as certified
corn, sugar cane, or trees (incl responsibly sourced materials, e.g. ensuring that they don’t
by-products). compete with food production.

▪ A negative carbon footprint allowing for claims such as
