Living in a modern world, instead of having a healthy life, it is strange that a

number of children follow unhealthy lifestyles. This leads to some excessive

disadvantages for them, but unfortunately the primary contributors are from
schools and families. I strongly advocate that parents, schools and other group
share the responsibility to solve the problem.
Nowadays, children are easily influenced by bad habits that contribute to
unbalanced lifestyles. Because of the rapid advancements in technology, children
use smartphones hours and hours on social networks. For instances, they usually
ready to do entertaining activities such as chatting with friends, watching films
rather than physical activities and sleep. Moreover, children often lack essential
skills, such as cooking or communication. For this reason, they tend to consume
fast food which are often unhygienic, sugary and high levels of oil, contributing to
health issues like diabetes, obesity.
Given these issues, both parents and schools are responsible for tackle the
issue. Firstly, due to parents’ busy schedule, they struggle to manage their
children’s screen time and the content they exposed to, particularly violent or age-
inappropriate materials. Parents should monitor the kid’s habits, ensuring that
screen time is limited or setting clear rules to control their children easier. Not only
that, nutrition is also a concerning problem. Parents have an important role in their
children’s growth, it is ideal to ensure the kids are eating variety of fruits,
vegetables. They could achieve this by learning about proper nutrition through
books, expert advice, or online resources.
Schools also have a crucial role in promoting healthy lifestyles. Schools
should recommend heathier meal options by cooking the dishes rich in fiber,
vitamins and protein. In addition, schools can encourage students to participate in
physical exercises, organize outdoor activities. By creating a good environment, it
is likely to enhance children’s well-being and maintain friendships among students.
On the other hand, government ought to take significant action.
Governments could implement regulation that curbs children’s exposure to harmful
media. For instances, the Ministry of Health could control the quantity of food sold
near school premises and introduce policies about food. Simultaneously, the
Ministry of Information and Communication can enforce stricter guidelines to
protect children from toxic social media.
In conclusion, while parents and schools are the primary influences on
children’s health, governments also contribute to this status. Through collaboration
between three factors, children can develop heathier habits that will benefit them in
the long term.
