Yes, this is an online program with live sessions conducted primarily by AIM faculty.

Who grades/gives input on the assignments and projects?


Assignments will be graded by industry practitioners who support participants in their learning journeys and/or by the
Emeritus grading team.

What if I miss the assignments for a particular week? Can I attempt them later?
Late assignments will only be accepted within a week after the program’s end date.

What if I don’t find the program appropriate for me after starting the sessions? Can I seek a refund?
Should you feel the need to stop your learning journey, a refund request can be initiated within seven days before the
date of payment.

Is on-campus immersion offered for this program?


Yes, there is a campus immersion and networking opportunity for the participants of this program.

What type of certificate will I receive?


Upon successful completion of the program, you will receive a smart digital certificate. The smart digital certificate can
be shared with friends, family, schools, or potential employers. You can use it on your cover letter, resume, and/or
display it on your LinkedIn profile. The digital certificate will be sent within 4-6 weeks after the program, once grading is
complete.

How long will I have access to the learning materials?


You will have access to the online learning platform and all the videos and program materials for 12 months following the
program end date. Access to the learning platform is restricted to registered participants as per the terms of agreement.

Norbert Paul R. Gerena is a faculty member at the Asian Institute


of Management. His expertise lies in data science, with research
interests in deep learning, representation learning, and topological
data analysis. He has worked as a data scientist and data science
consultant with several organizations.

Marwell D. Dalangin
Faculty, Data Science

Marwell D. Dalangin is a data science and AI leader with more than


20 years of experience. His expertise lies in R&D, data science, AI,
and digital technologies, including ML, deep learning, natural
language processing (NLP), computer vision, knowledge graphs,
complex systems, big data, AI engineering and cloud services,
intelligent automation, Internet of Things (IoT), and enterprise data
architecture. He spearheads innovation as the SM Group senior
vice president for data labs at SM Investments Corporation.

Matthew George O. Escobido


Faculty, Analytics, Innovation, Operations

Matthew George O. Escobido is an adjunct faculty at the Asian


Institute of Management. His expertise lies in analytics, innovation,
and operations. He was the program director for the Department
of Science and Technology—Leaders in Innovation Fellowship
programs and the former academic program director for the
Master of Science in Innovation and Business. He started the
Institute’s Analytics Lab and Innovations Lab.

Jose Miguel Bautista is a physicist turned data scientist. Before AIM,


he earned his PhD from Stony Brook University, doing research in
astrophysics and low surface brightness science. Coming from a
family of economists, professor Bautista is currently engaged in
research bridging physics, data science, finance, and economics

Kristine Ann Carandang


Data Scientist, Analytics, Computing & Complex Systems
Laboratory. Adjunct Faculty, Asian Institute of Management

Kristine Ann M. Carandang is currently working as a data scientist


at the corporate data science laboratory of the Asian Institute of
Management, and also serves as a Board Director and Vice
President for Programs of the Philippine Academy of Occupational
Therapists, Inc.

She received her Master of Science in Data Science degree from the
Asian Institute of Management, where she is currently taking her
doctorate degree in the same discipline. Her current research
interests are data engineering, applications of natural language
processing, deep learning algorithms and applications,
occupational science and translational research.

Joaquin Emmanuel J. Gonzales


Faculty, Data Science

Joaquin Emmanuel J. Gonzales holds a Master of Science in Data


Science from the Asian Institute of Management and a Master of
Arts in Economics from the University of the Philippines-Diliman.
He also earned a Bachelor of Science in Management Engineering
and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Ateneo de Manila
University. Professionally, he serves as a Data Scientist and Data
Governance Manager at Universal Robina Corporation.
