Thesis Rationale
Topic: Analyzing the behavioral Performance of Pupils: Parental Involvement in San Isidro Elementary School
What is your study all about?
This study all about analyzing the behavioral performance of the pupils and the involvement of their parents. This study aims to analyze the effect of parental involvement towards the performance of the pupils in San Isidro elementary School. What is your claim? The claim of this study was parental involvement is commonly tacked on how this parental involvement affects the academic achievement of the students; thus, it surely receives more attention than their behavioral performance, which leads to a lack of proper behavior and etiquette in the school.
What do other authors say about the study?
Research suggests that parent involvement in activities that are effectively planned and well implemented result in substantial benefits to children, parents, educators, and the school (Sanpungan et al. 2014). Studies that parental involvement positively correlates with increased student academic achievement and classroom behavior (Mante et al. 2015). It positively impacts students' performance, as successful pupils come from a nurturing home environment (Caño et al. 2016). What’s the gap of the study? Despite the established benefits of parental involvement, there remains a notable gap in understanding the specific mechanisms through which this involvement influences behavioral outcomes. Most studies have focused primarily on academic performance, leaving a lack of comprehensive study on how various forms of parental engagement—such as parenting, home-school relationships, and responsibility for learning outcomes participation in school activities—affect children's behavior in diverse educational settings. Additionally, as highlighted in some literature, there is limited exploration of the potential negative effects of parental involvement, particularly in cases where some research indicates potential drawbacks to students' general behavior as bad, with reasons like inappropriate behavior, disrespect for authority, and absence of parental role models (Caridade et al., 2021; Peng et al., 2023).
How do you intend to address the group?
This study aims to address the gap by conducting a descriptive analysis of the parental involvement towards the behavioral performance of the pupils in San Isidro Elementary School. Topic: Evaluating Elementary School Students performance using the child-centered approach
What is your study all about?
- The study is all about evaluating elementary schools’ students’ performance using the child- centered approach. What is your claim? - The researcher claims that many of the students nowadays are more on child-centered approach where they are the one to understand the content of the lesson for them to be able to cope up the specific answer specifically in doing their homework and other things. What do other authors say about the study? - According to Aquino et.al, students now act as a network through which information is transferred and transformed, and teachers must act as facilitators and compasses for the information to manifest into actual output. The teachers who conducted classes in a student-centered classroom methodology should consider that there are skills that should be develop in designing innovative activities that can tap student’s needs and interests. Through these activities, teachers may see a significant improvement in the academic performance of the students and can unlock their full potential in things other than what they are capable. What’s the gap of the study? - Despite the potential benefits, several research gaps remain in this area. Further research is needed on the specific types of training and support that teacher require to effectively implement student-centered assessment strategies. More research is also needed to understand students' perceptions and misconceptions about student-centered assessment. Exploring how students interpret and engage with assessment practices can provide insights into effective strategies for promoting student buy-in and understanding of the assessment process. Additionally, further research is necessary to evaluate the effectiveness of student-centered assessment strategies in improving student learning outcomes. This includes examining the impact of these strategies on student performance, engagement, motivation, and critical thinking skills across different educational contexts. How do you intend to address the group? - It is essential to continue pursuing research in the area of student-centered assessment strategies. By addressing the identified research gaps and building upon existing literature, we can gain a deeper understanding of the challenges and opportunities associated with implementing student-centered assessment in educational settings. This research can inform the development of evidence-based practices and policies that support effective assessment practices aligned with student-centered learning goals. Continuing to explore this topic can contribute to the ongoing conversation about assessment practices that promote student engagement, learning autonomy, and holistic growth. By investigating the nuances of student-centered assessment strategies and their impact on student learning outcomes, we can enhance teaching practices and create more meaningful learning experiences for students. Topic: Engaging Young Minds: Effectiveness of Gamification strategies towards the academic performance of Elementary Students
What is your study all about?
This study all about understanding the effectiveness of using the gamification strategies towards the academic performance of elementary students. What is your claim? This study claims that some subjects using gamification strategies has been seen a positive outcome of the performance of the student and some subjects also results negative outcomes towards the academic performance of the students. What do other authors say about the study? Many studies highlight that gamification can significantly boost student engagement and motivation, leading to a more active learning environment (Caponetto et al., 2014; Fadhli et al. 2020; Hamari et al., 2016). Research indicates that gamified learning can enhance problem-solving and critical thinking skills by encouraging collaboration and competition among students (Mohamad et al., 2018). Some literature points out that the effectiveness of gamification can vary widely depending on factors such as age, learning style, and personal interests (Zainuddin et al., 2020). What’s the gap of the study? The gap of this study was on gamification in subjects like mathematics and science, there is less focus on its application to other subjects, which could provide valuable insights into its holistic effectiveness. Also, most existing research focuses on specific demographics, often neglecting diverse populations that might react differently to gamification strategies. How do you intend to address the group? This study intends to address this gap by conducting a comparative analysis of the effectiveness of gamification strategies towards the academic performance of the learners. In this analysis the researcher be able to explore the different outcomes using the gamification strategies.
