CHAPTER 1

BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY

Central to the discourse is the recognition that apprehension is not a monolithic phenomenon but

rather a complex amalgamation of various factors, including academic pressures, social dynamics, familial

expectations, and personal insecurities. Through qualitative and quantitative methodologies, this study

Moreover, the exploration extends beyond mere identification to encompass an examination of coping

mechanisms employed by Grade 9 students to navigate the labyrinth of challenges they encounter. From

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM:

"Confidence Matters: Uncovering the Apprehension and Coping Mechanisms of Grade 9 students in

Cuyab Integrated National High School" delves into the crucial topic of adolescent confidence within the

unique context of Grade 9 students at Cuyab Integrated National High School. This study aims to shed light

on the various challenges, apprehensions, and coping mechanisms these students encounter as they navigate

the complexities of adolescence and education. By exploring these factors, this research seeks to offer

insights and potential solutions to support the holistic development and well-being of Grade 9 students in

their academic journey.

SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY:

This study aims to level the confidence of apprehension of Grade 9 students from Cuyab Integrated

National High School, it soar to discover the variants of perspective of each individual to know the quality

of each comprehension and to have the solution we need to access the problem regarding to the

comprehension of availability.

SCOPE AND LIMITATION OF THE STUDY:

This study coverage the whole Grade 9 students of Cuyab Integrated National High School and delimiting from

the staff and teacher working inside the campus.

CONCEPTUAL FRAMEWORK:

This study unveils the conceptual that is expected to know the limits and possible level of the

comprehension availability of the Grade 9 students of Cuyab Integrated National High School, it has a lot of

factors that could consider like inability to grasp the confidence of students, the factors of students regarding

the perspective about reading and writing.

Coping mechanism is one-way roundabout to consider the process of getting to know the

comprehension perspective of the said students. It is far more helpful to contribute to unlock the concept on

why people should know, the process of perspective of Grade 9 students of Cuyab Integrated National High

School.

DEFINITION OF TERMS:

CONFIDENCE - the feeling or belief that one can rely on someone or something; firm trust.
COMPREHENSION - the action or capability of understanding something.
PERSPECTIVE - a particular attitude toward or way of regarding something; a point of view.
