I.) WRITE THE NUMBER NAMES FOR THE FOLLOWING
DECIMALS:
1.) 18.56 = Eighteen point five six
2.) 34.69 = Thirty four point six nine
3.) 26.02 = Twenty six point zero two
4.) 1564.2165 = One thousand five hundred and sixty four point two one

5.) 348.157 = Three hundred and forty eight point one five seven.
II.) WRITE THE FOLLOWING IN DECIMALS:

1.) Seventy two point four two = 72.42


2.) Five hundred and ninety seven point nine zero = 597.90

4.) Eighty two point two eight = 82.28
5.) Nine hundred fifty six point four three nine = 956.439

III.) WRITE EACH OF THE FOLLOWING AS DECIMALS:

2.) 54 / 100 = 0.54
3.) 3256 / 100 = 32.56
4.) 5684 / 1000 = 5.684
5.) 26 / 10 = 2.6

IV.) WRITE EACH OF THE FOLLOWING AS FRACTIONS:


1.) 0.7 = 7 / 10
2.) 25.36 = 2536 / 100
3.) 568.02 = 56802 / 100
4.) 0.05 = 5 / 100
5.) 4.365 = 4.365 / 1000

V.) CONVERSION:
1.) 5 m into cm:
Ans: 1 m = 100 cm
Then 5m = 5 x 100 = 500 cm

2.) 60 metre into millimetre:


Ans: 1 m = 1000 mm
Then 60 m = 60 x 1000 = 60000mm.
3.) 96 km into cm:
Ans: 1km = 1000 m
Then 96 km = 96 x1000 = 96000cm.
4.) 4000 cm into deca m:
Ans: 1deca m = 1000 cm
4000 cm = 4000 / 1000 = 4 deca m.
5.) 6984 mm into hm:
Ans: 1 hm = 100000mm
6984 mm = 6984 / 100000 = 0.06984 hm.

Ans: The length of line A is = 4.5 cm

The length of line B is = 4.8 cm

2.)Which line is longer? C or D? and write how line it is in cms.

Ans: Line C seems to be longer.On measuring both lines are equal.


Line C = 3.2 cm

Line D = 3.2 cm

Ans: Paste some pictyures of animals and measure their tails and atlast write
the animal of the longest tail.
1.) How many paise does a match box cost?
Ans: 50 paise.
2.) How many match boxes can be got for Rs.2.50?
Ans: Five.
3.) How many rupees does the soap cost?
Ans: Rs.8.75
4.) Arun wanted to buy a soap.He has a five rupee coin,2 one rupee coins
and 4 half rupee coins.Write in rupees what money he will get back?
Ans: Total money with Arun:
=( Rs. 5 x 1) + (Re.1 x 2) + (Rs.4 x 0.5)
= 5 +2 + 2 = Rs.9
Cost of one soap = Rs.8.75
Arun will get back = 9 _ 8.75 =Rs.0.25 .
5.) An egg costs two and a half rupees.How much will one and a half dozen
cost?
Ans: Cost of an egg = Rs.2.50
One and a half dozen eggs = 12 + 6= 18
eggs Cost of 18 eggs = 18 x 2.50 = Rs.45
Money left = 60 – 45 = Rs.15.
6.) How many pens can kannan buy? How much money is left?
Ans: Cost of a pen = Rs.6.50
Cost of 2 pens = 2 x 6.50 = 13
Money left = Rs 15 – 13= Rs.2.
7.) The price of 2 pens is Rs.13.Can she buy two pens?
Ans: Yes, she can buy two pens with Rs.13.

paise = Rupee.0.10
3.) Rupee 5 /100 = 5 paise = Rupee.0.05
4.) Rupee ¾ = 75 paise = Rupee . 0.75

6.) Rupee ¼ = 25 paise = Rupee.0.25

Hence,money received by mithun = 10 x
