(The other kids greet her.)

I'm Rian. Welcome to our school!
AYA

(DINA and RUDI join them.)

(They are playing in the playground.)

(In the classroom, the TEACHER speaks.)

Class, we have a new student, Alex!
ALEX
Hi, everyone!
Scene 4: Making Friends

(During recess, KELLY approaches ALEX.)
KELLY
Hey, I’m Kelly. Welcome!
ALEX
Thanks, Kelly! I just moved here.
(JAMIE and SAM join.)
JAMIE
I’m Jamie! Let’s play together!
SAM
Yeah, soccer time!

(They play soccer on the field.)
KELLY
I’ll be the goalie!
ALEX
And I’ll try to score!
(They laugh and have fun.)

(At the end of the day.)

(In the classroom, the TEACHER stands in front.)
TEACHER
Good morning, class! We have a new student today. This is NINA.
NINA
(smiling and waving)

(During break, LIA approaches NINA.)
LIA
Hi, I’m Lia! Welcome to our school!
NINA
Thanks, Lia! I’m a bit nervous.
(Two other students, BEN and SARA, join.)

SARA
Yeah! It’ll be fun!

(They head to the soccer field.)
LIA
I’ll be on your team, Nina!

Okay! I’ve never played before, though.
(They start playing, helping NINA learn.)

(JASPER sets up his artwork. A girl, MAYA, approaches.)

Hi! I’m Maya. Your painting is amazing!
JASPER
Thanks, I’m Jasper! I love painting.
(A boy, TOM, joins them.)
TOM
Hey! I’m Tom. Do you like art too?
Scene 4: Sharing Interests

MAYA
Yes! I love drawing. What do you like to paint, Jasper?
JASPER
I enjoy painting landscapes. How about you, Tom?

I mostly do sketches.
