9 Q IMPORTANT:
9 • If the tractor is operated with the parking brake applied.
the parking brake may be damaged.
F-3584 F-3585

• Throttle Lever
• For operation of the clutch and adjustment of the clutch Pulling the throttle lever backward decreases engine speed,
pedal, refer to the respective items. and pushing it forward increases engine speed .

• Brake Pedals (Right and Left)

h. WARNING:
.. • Applying only one rear wheel brake at high
speeds could cause the tractor to swerve or
roll-over.
(1) Before operating the tractor on the road, be sure to
interlock the right and left pedals as illustrated below.
(2) Use individual brakes to assist in making sharp turns at
slow speeds (Field Operation- Only). Disengage the
brake pedal lock and depress only one brake pedal to
do this.

• Throttle Pedal
Depressing the pedal increases engine speed.
The throttle pedal may also be used to increase engine
speed above what is set by the throttle lever.

• Engine Stop Knob

The engine stops when the key switch is turned off.
However if the engine does not stop, pull engine stop knob
back and hold it until the engine stops .

• Parking Brake Lever

(1) To set the parking brake;
• Interlock the brake pedals.
• Depress the brake pedals.
• Pull the lever to park.
(2) To release the parking brake. push release button and
push down parking brake lever.

After the engine has stopped, be sure to push the stop knob
back in, or the engine will not start the next time.

11.2 ENGINE OIL

• Oil Level Check and Replenishment
(See page 35, 52)
(1) Check engine oil before starting the engine or 5
minutes or more after the engine has stopped.
(2) To check the oil level, draw out the dipstick, wipe it
clean, replace it, and draw it out again. Check to see
that the oil level lies between the two notches.
(3) If the level is too low, add new oil to the prescribed
level.
• Engine Oil Filter Cartridge Change
IMPORTANT:
• Be sure to stop the engine before changing the oil filter
cartridge.
(1) The oil filter cartridge must be changed every 400
service hours.
(2) Apply a slight coat of oil onto the cartridge gasket.
(3) To install the new catridge, screw it on by hand.
Overtightening may cause deformation of the rubber
gasket.

(4) After the new cartridge has been replaced, the engine
oil level will normally lower a little. Add engine oil to
proper level. Check for oil leaks around filter gasket.

L3350
(4) When using an oil of different manufacturer or viscos-
ity from the previous one, remove all of the old oil.
Never mix two different types of oil.
(5) Use the proper SAE Engine Oil according to the air
temperatu res.

ENGINE OIL VISCOSITY CHART

Below O°C (32°F) SAE 10W or 10W-30
o to 25°C (32 to 77"F) SAE 20 or 10W-30
Above 25°C (77°F) SAE 30 or 10W-30

• Engine Oil Change L3750, L4150

IMPORTANT:
• Before changing the oil, be sure to stop the engine.
(1) To drain the used oil, remove the drain plug at the
bottom of the engine and drain the oil c01'tlpletely. All
the used oil can be drained out easily when the engine·
is still warm.
(2) Reinstall the drain plug.
(3) Fill with the new oil up to the upper notch on the
dipstick.
