New Features and Enhancements 2024.1

Release Highlights

PSIM-HyperStudy Link for Design Optimization of Power Electronic Converters and Motor
Drive Systems
A new connector link between PSIM and HyperStudy is created from v2024.1 to simulate and study the PSIM schematics from the
HyperStudy environment. The purpose of this feature is to use the simulated output signals data in HyperStudy environment for design
of the experiment (DOE), optimization, and other post-processing of simulated data from PSIM.

Linking with PSIM: The PSIM-HyperStudy connector link only works from PSIM v2024.1 onwards. The connector can connect with
HyperStudy v2024.0 and as well as HyperStudy v2024.1.

Below image describes the PSIM's Utilities menu bar for HyperStudy Setup from PSIM environment to make the connection:

Link inside HyperStudy: Once the successful connection is done via PSIM v2024.1 "Utilities -> HyperStudy Setup”, one can use the
PSIM schematics files for the design of the experiment (DOE), optimization, etc. by adding the PSIM as in the "Add Model" dialog, as
shown below in the figure.

Steady State Detection Feature

• The Steady State Detection Block offers a feature to bypass the TotalTime solver option. This block is used to stop the
simulation once the target steady state is reached and is maintained for a specific amount of time.
• This helps with simulation time efficiency, when the user(s) are running hundreds or thousands of simulations with different
inputs.

Other Improvements:
• Support SPICE model files in the local folder

New Elements Support:

• Steady State Detection Block
• Utilities Tool: HyperStudy Setup
• Utilities Tool: PcDEditor

New Tutorial
• How to Use PSIM-HyperStudy Connector link.

New Examples:
• Examples: Steady State Detection Feature
• Examples: PSIM-HyperStudy Link

Resolved Issues:
• CodeGen issue with 2-ph PWM block
• No new tutorials that mentioned in the release note
• Case Studies - Level 3 Devices Have Error
• SimCoder C block is ignored during code gen.

• Coupled inductor level 2 can't be set with Simulation Models

• Error with the Speed Control (nonlinear IPM) block
• HyperSpice generates incorrect results when multiple S-parameter blocks are used
• SimCoder crashes when setting a PWM block with a wrong board No in Expert4 target
• HyperSpice S-parameter element (for cables) does not work in 3-ph inverter system
• Issue with XML model conversion - CS0610524
• SimCoder generates wrong CAN code for F2803x/06x/33x
• SimCoder generates wrong code if the subcircuit only has one block
• Problem with SPICE Link example: Boost\Boost Converter SiRA12DP - load sweep (SPICE).psimsch"
