RELIGION: A Basis of Life and Culture

Religion plays a vital role in human society, it is the basis of moral and
societal norms. Different entities has different religion which means they
differ in their practices and belief. Some of religion such as Christianity is the
reason why the monarchs in history became centralized, it is through the
guidance of the pope which was the highest rank in the aforementioned
religion. However, secularism occurred to move away from the dominance of
religion as the basis of social mores as the societal government crafting laws
that can followed by the people. Religions are also independent in the
society where it practices secularism or the separation between the church
and state. In this ideology, the church has no power to command the
government in crafting laws the same as the government has no power to
command religion to practice their belief unless it was inhumane and
unbearable.

As a human who believes that religion matters, I participated in Roman

Catholicism. As matter of fact I enjoyed being a catholic because one of its
principle is being resilient in which no matter what hardship comes, we as
one can overcome with it. The catholic also has its aspect called trinity. It is
the father, the son, and the holy spirit and means God all in one person. It
also means unity in which people united as one and also the fundamental
mark of the church.

This world has different religions that considered as the representation

of every individual’s culture and belief system. We must considered the
occurrence of respect in everyone’s differences as we thoroughly across in
the bridge of cultural relativism.
