Event Overview
The Saudi Green Building Forum (SGBF) in its 14th edition is scheduled to take
place from 6th to 8th October 2024, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Under the Patronage
of His Excellency Mr. Majid Bin Abdullah Al-Hogail, Minister of Municipalities
and Housing, the upcoming forum aims to build on the success of the previous
edition and further amplify the Kingdom’s commitment to sustainability and
green initiatives. Last year’s event saw over 500 delegates, 50 speakers, and 18
sessions, highlighting the Kingdom’s efforts in realizing its sustainability goals
amidst its rapid progress on green giga projects.

This year, the 14th SGBF will spotlight several critical themes. The forum will delve
into natural-based solutions integrated and non-core objectives, and exploring
innovative approaches that leverage nature for sustainable development.
Additionally, it will emphasize the effective implementation of innovative solutions
by focusing on practical strategies to integrate cutting-edge technologies and
practices in the green building sector. Lastly, the forum will stress the continuous
review of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, specifically
targeting Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities; Goal 12: Responsible
Consumption and Production; Goal 13: Limit and Adapt to Climate Change, and
Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals. By addressing these themes, the 14th SGBF
aims to further advance the Kingdom’s position at the forefront of the global
green sustainable development industry.

Saudi Green Building Forum is the platform that showcases the role of the
Kingdom as a leader in sustainable development. Recognized in Consultative
Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council, the forum has
consistently convened thought leaders from both public and private sectors to
address pressing issues. As the 14th edition approaches, the SGBF continues to
serve as a vital platform for dialogue, collaboration, and innovation, driving the
Kingdom’s ambitious sustainability agenda forward and shaping the future of
green building and urban development in the region.
