Move to Bind off for sizes small and medium,

Move to next round large and xlarge.

Round 26: *k11, k1fb, repeat from * all around. (156, 169 sts)
Round 27: purl
Round 28: knit
Round 29: purl

Move to Bind off for sizes large and xlarge.

Bind off all stitches as follows (remove marker): *k2togtbl (knit 2

together through the back loop), place the stitch from the right needle to
the left needle, repeat from * all across. Break yarn and weave in all the
ends.

I-cord tie:
With the U.S. 8 (16 inch) circular
needle cast on 5 stitches. Work
an I-cord until the piece
measures: 29, 30, 31, 32 inches

The length is easily adjusted

depending on how long or short
you may like the tie. Break yarn
leaving a tail, weave tail through
remaining stitches and pull tight.
Weave in all ends.

Tie the I-cord around the base

of the hat in a square knot {do
not pull to snug, just place
around comfortably}. Tack
The Velvet down at the knot to the hat, and
Acorn Designs tack down opposite the knot on
the other side. This will secure
tie to hat.
