If you decide to use singing Bards as your
companions, prepare your ears for the most beautiful

edge or listen to him until the end of the game?
The game structure and the goal of the game
remains the same while playing with the Bards
Expansion. All the changes for the Bards Expansion
are explained below.

BARDS

The Bards are present beside each Player Board

from the beginning of the game.
Players may use their Bard ability once per Fight
when Fighting Monsters and other Witchers, like any
other Companion ability.
Players can also choose, once per Fight, to use their
Bard's Defense Pool to tank the damage of an
attack. If a Bard takes too much damage it will leave
the Player and can't be used again. The Player's Bard
card is put in the game box when he/she leaves.
Players can use their Bard until the end of the game
if they have at least 0 Shield in their Defense Pool.

BARD RULES

Bards have an Ability and a Defense Pool that

can be used. Players have to choose which one
they use in a particular situation.
 When using the Bard's Ability, Players use it like
any other Companion or Equipment ability.
 When using the Bard's Defense Pool, Players can
redirect damage to the Bard Defense Pool.
 When the Defense Pool is below 0 the Bard
leaves and the remaining damage of the attack
goes to the Player's Witcher or Mage Life Pool.
 The Bard's Defense Pool never resets or go up, it
can only go down, unless specified otherwise.
 Track the Defense Pool on the Bard cards with
the wood tokens from an unused Witcher
or Mage.
 Players can't get another Bard in any way when
their starting Bard leaves, so choose carefully
when tanking an attack!
