1. What myth (Problem) did they experiment? In other words, what did they want to study? Is it worth
running in the rain?
2. What is the Independent Variable? In other words, what did they change and test in the experiment?
The change is the running and the walking of the person in the rain.
3. What is the Dependent Variable? In other words, what did they measure for data in the experiment?
Amount of weight.
4. Identify the Control Variable. In other words which IV part of the experiment did they do first run or
walk? walking
5. List 3 Constant Variables. What did they keep the same in both experiments (running/walking)?
Clothes, water, amount of rain
6. What was the prediction? Write this in a Hypothesis format of If _you walk in rain, then you will get
wetter.
7. What was their procedure? In other words, list the steps to the experiment. First, their first step was to
walk in the rain and measure how wet their suits were. The second step was to run in the rain and see
how wet the suits were.
8. What was the Conclusion? Was the Prediction correct or incorrect? The conclusion is to walk than run
in the rain and their prediction was wrong.

Watch Video 2: Waterslide Wipeout
1. What myth (Problem) did they experiment? In other words, what did they want to study? How fast
would they need to go on a waterslide to reach 115 feet?
2. What is the Independent Variable? In other words, what did they change and test in the experiment?
They change the length of how many feet they would go off the slide to see if they are accurate
enough to reach the kitty pool.
3. What is the Dependent Variable? In other words, what did they measure for data in the experiment?
The length of how many feet they would go off the slide.
4. Identify the Control Variable. In other words which part of the experiment did they do first? They did
the length test first then the accuracy.
5. List 3 Constant Variables. What did they keep the same in both experiments (running/walking). The
lake, the slide, and the wet suit.
6. What was the prediction? Write this in a Hypothesis format of If the person in the video on that slide
reached the pool at 115 feet, then it is possible for the MythBusters to reach 115 feet.
7. What was their procedure? In other words, list the steps to the experiment? First, see how many feet
can they reach off the slide, second was to see their accuracy going off the slide.
8. What was the Conclusion? Was the Prediction correct or incorrect? The conclusion is it is impossible to
reach 115 feet and hit the small pool on grass with their slide and their prediction was incorrect.
