Case Analysis – THE NEW HR MANAGER

Time Context - The problem occurs in span of three months after they hired Mr. Rod Santos as
the HR Manager

Viewpoint - Rightful owner of the problem is the one who hired Mr. Rod Santos as a manager
despite of the degree and work experience of Mr. Rod was on Engineering and construction stuff.
Also Mr. Rod who accepted the job even though he doesn't have an experience in managing

Central Issue (dalawa sa tingin ko di ko syor shjfnehd) - The employees have been resigning
with unknown reasons since the three-month span was Mr. Rod was hired as a manager and the
result of that, the production schedule began to get delayed

- The HR department hired Mr. Rod Santos as a manager even though he is a from Engineering
degree and his past jobs was in the construction.

Statement of the Objectives

A. Short-Range Objectives

● To determine what are the causes of the resignation of the workers


● To train the new HR manager on his roles and responsibility in his own job
● To have a more productive and efficient workplace
● To be more specific in Hiring and managing employees

B. Long-Range Objectives

● Hire a new HR manager with an experience and field of expertise


● To have a job train facilities and conferences before hiring or promoting an
employee
● To make employees trust more and be loyal to the company
● To make the customers more invested and trusts much more the company

STRENGTHS
o The garment business is globally competitive
o Customer satisfaction is of prime importance
o Employees commitments to performance standards are highly priority

WEAKNESSES

o Lack of staff and personnel


o Lack of job trainings
o Lack in decision making
o Ineffective management because of the recent case
● External Environment
OPPORTUNITY
o Since the Prime Manufacturing Company is already known in it’s customer
service and satisfaction, it can have a wide range of potential market

THREATS

o They can lose the trust of their customers and the customers itself because of
the delay that’s happening because of the lack of the personnel
o The skilled workers who resigned may be hired by other companies

Alternative Courses of Action

Since Mr. Rod Santos has no experience in her work job that he accepted it is risky for
the company and for the employees because he doesn’t know what to do and it is not his field of
expertise, in this kind of situation these are the alternative courses action might be considered:

1. The company should consider having a staff training and development program to all of the
department to know the strengths and weaknesses of the employees and the company could take
an action before it’ll go to much bigger problems

Advantages: The advantage of these is the employees will get prepared and train in every job
there will be hired also it will help the company to determine the strengths and weaknesses of the
employee and they were be able to assign them correctly in the specific job that is suited to them.

Disadvantages: It is a long process and this program might take so long to prepare.
2. Make Mr. Rod Santos to step down to his position and put one in a position who is expertise in
managing and doing the HR field

Advantages: This will make the HR to do his job efficiently and effectively because he knows
what to do

Disadvantages: It is not easy to find a professional manager with the field of expertise it may
took a while

Conclusion

Human Resource management is a field that need to be done with an employee with expertise.
Actually, all of the job should have field in expertise. Each of the employee should know what to
do and should know what their job is. Based on the ACA above the employees should have a
Staff Training and development program to make the work effectively and efficiently. In this
case, the employee will be much more efficient because he or she is in her/his field where he/she
is excellent.

Recommendation

The group recommend to have a re-evaluation for the promotion of the employee and
apply a program before hiring and promoting the employees

Action Plan

1. Re-evaluate the promotion of Mr. Rod Santos

2. The Top Leve Management should have conferences and meetings in promoting an employee
to make sure that the employee is qualified and have experiences before giving the employees a
big responsibility in the company

3. Have a survey to the employees to know in what way the company should do better and to
make them more loyal to the company.
