Note: This is a script for a short 10 minute film, based in Dubai, about a fictitious UAE citizen family. Thesis of story: In life, youre always subjugate unless you consciously break free
Summary of story: Act 1: We see the neighborhood of the main character. Police Housing Community, behind Safestway Supermarket near Safa toll gate. The main characters family is humble, father was a police officer (low rank, now retired). Act 2: We see the main character on duty (he is also a low rank policeman), guarding the Business Bay metro station. See him noticing the different passengers, especially eastern European girls. Act 3: See him being picked up by police transportation. Converses with friend, wondering about the life of the tourists, and if it is different from his. Act 4: See him taking the metro back to Business Bay, in WESTERN CASUAL clothes (not kundora), where he interacts with Turkish girl who gets off at same stop. They walk a bit, then he walks back home and to his neighborhood. (No one from the neighborhood can notice, because of the physical segregation of the neighborhood from what happens on Sheikh Zayed Road). Act 5: We see an argument in his household between his younger brother and his father. The brother is asking for money to go out with friends (on a secret date). The father knows the son has bad intentions. Brother asks main character for some money, he gives, and he thinks how lucky the younger brother is. Act 6: We see the main character on duty, overly excited and happy, interactive with passengers. He is coldly approached by a more experienced colleague. Act 7: The more experienced colleague publicly ridicules the main characters enthusiasm on the ride back to their police station. Act 8: The main character is seen riding the metro home, this time wearing a kundora. He meets the same girl. But she is uncomfortable seeing him in a kundora. She tries to avoid him, he tries to enquire why, she reprimands him publicly citing that she is not a prostitute and that she will call the police if he doesnt leave her alone. Act 9: Main character goes home, before he enters he notices his younger brother arriving home while simultaneously being congratulated by his peers for having a successful date. He grabs him, pushes him in, (door shuts and camera outside focus on door, we hear the main character tell everyone in the house that his brother is up to no good. Hear father slap brother in the face).

Taariq: Oh you con artist bastard, you do not fool me with your uniform. Yasser: Your mouth is saying the same old rubbish, but your eyes are shouting things are different. He gets up and offers the ladies the seats, he gestures at passenger 1 to get up, passenger 1 quietly and disorientedly obliges. Aysel: Thank you. (To Taariq, with a friendly smile). We hear them laughing in the background. Soon, Aysels friend leaves, she kisses Aysel good bye, and as she exits the door, she turns and says good bye to Taariq. Taariq just has time to smile, as the doors close, he waives good bye. He turns around, Aysel is not looking at him, but we know she is thinking about him, she is looking at the empty seat. Taariq walks over and sits down. Aysel smiles at Taariq and looks out the window. Lots of silence as the trains keeps going on and on. Aysel: Thanks for knowing how to treat a lady. Taariq: What do you mean? Aysel: I dont like riding the metro if there are too many people that dont behave like humans. Taariq: I like making people feel good about riding the metro, it is yanni my objective. Aysel: (laughs) That is very nice of you, will you always be there when I ride the metro, please? Taariq: Depends when you ride, for example I am here everyday at this time. Till Business Bay. Aysel: Business Bay, me too!
