Accessory Belt Tension - Check 923-110-070

1. Check t he Belt Tension…

- Turn on t he Belt Tension Gauge, select reading mode in Hert z (Hz) &
hold t he probe approximat ely 5mm dist ance in Front of t he belt (
CAUTION: Do not t ouch t he probe t o t he belt , t his can damage t he
probe!) as shown in t he illust rat ion above by X.
- Tap on t he belt near t he probe.
- Not e t he reading. If t he reading is wit hin 125 TO 145, t his should be OK.
- If t he reading is less t han 125 Hz t hen it needs adj ust ment .
2. Adj ust t he belt t ension ….

2.A - Loosen t he Tensioner Pulley Shaft Nut .
2.B – Tight en t he Belt Tensioning Bolt .
2.C - Tight en t he Tensioner Pulley Shaft Nut

3. Repeat t he procedure as per t he St ep-1
- If t he belt t ension value should be 140+5 Hz.
- If t he value is less t han 140+5 Hz, Repeat t he St eps 2 & 3.

on leveled ground & engine should be cold ) & t op up if required.

Tappet Adjustment Syst em : Engine
1. Remove NVH Cover & t hen Rocker Arm Cover wit h Gasket
2. Adj ust t he t appet clearance as per t he following procedure …
x Bring no.1 pist on at TDC. Ensure no 4 cylinder Rockers at dancing /

rocking posit ion.
x Adj ust t he t appet clearance of 1st cylinder bot h Inlet & Exhaust valves as
per specificat ions*.

x Turn t he engine 1800 furt her in t he direct ion of engine rot at ion (2nd
cylinder Rockers at dancing / rocking posit ion). Adj ust t appet of 3rd
cylinder valves as per specif icat ions*.
x Turn t he engine 1800 furt her in t he direct ion of engine rot at ion (1st
cylinder Rockers at dancing / rocking posit ion). Adj ust t appet of 4t h
x Turn t he engine 1800 furt her in t he direct ion of engine rot at ion (3rd
cylinder Rockers at dancing / rocking posit ion). Adj ust t appet of 2nd
3. Ensure t he t ight ening Rocker Screw Nut t o 37.5 ± 2.5 Nm.
4. Ensure met allic sleeve in gasket & gasket posit ion in groove.
APPLICABILITY
* TAPPET CLEARANCE SPECIFICATIONS ( COLD )

INLET VALVE 0. 45 mm ( 18 t hou)
EXHAUST VALVE 0. 45 mm ( 18 t hou)

Belt Tensioner & Idler Pulley Bearing -
923-110-090
Change Syst em : Engine
1. Loosen t he Tensioner bolt t o relieve t he t ension.
2. Loosen t he Tensioner Pulley Nut . Take out t he pulley assembly wit h Dust
Shield, washer & t ake t he belt out .
Loosen t he Idler Pulley Bolt . Take out t he pulley assembly wit h Dust
Shield & washer.
3. Remove t he Circlip from t he Tensioner Pulley Assembly & t ake t he

bearing out . Inst all t he new bearing in t he pulley on a hand press (
Bearing should be pressed on out er race ) & fit t he circlip. Repeat t he
procedure for Idler Pulley Bearing t oo.

4. Put back t he Idler Pulley Assembly along wit h dust shield & washer on
t he bracket , t ight en t he Bolt t o 32.5 ±2.5 Nm.
Tensioner Pulley Assembly along wit h dust shield & washer on t he
bracket & engage t he nut .
Put t he belt in place
5. Tight en t he Tensioner Bolt so as t o get t he specif ied belt t ension; follow

Maint enance Procedure : 923-110-020/ 070 for checking / adj ust ing
t he belt t ension.
6. Tight en t he Tensioner pulley Nut t o 32.5 ±2.5 Nm.
APPLICABILITY

Engine oil & oil filter - Change Syst em : Engine
Park t he vehicle on leveled ground.( Engine should be hot while draining t he

oil)
1. Open t he oil filler cap.
2. Put t he oil collect ing t ray below t he sump, loosen & remove t he drain
plug. Allow t he oil t o be drained f or 15 min.
3. Remove t he oil filt er wrench.
4. Check t he oil cooler st ud f or t ight ness – Torque 27.5 ± 2.5 Nm. Aft er t he
oil is drained ,fit t he new oil filt er (Lubricat e t he filt er ‘ O’ ring wit h
fresh engine oil). Hand t ight t he oil f ilt er.
5. Fit t he drain plug wit h a new washer. Torque t ight en t he Drain Plug –
Torque 27.5 ± 2.5 Nm.
6. Remove t he Dip st ick & f ill t he fresh oil as per capacit y.
x Fit t he dip st ick & check t he oil level.
Check all j oint s for Oil leakage/ seepage at –
x Oil pan & crankcase j oint

x Oil pan Drain Plug.
x Oil f ilt er j oint .
x Oil cooler j oint

Accessory Belt - Change Syst em : Engine
1. Loosen t he Tensioner bolt t o relieve t he t ension.
2. Loosen t he Tensioner Pulley Nut . Take out t he pulley assembly wit h Dust
Shield, washer & t ake t he belt out .
3. Take t he belt out .
Put t he new belt in place & f it t he Tensioner Pulley Assembly along wit h
dust shield & washer on t he bracket , hand t ight en t he nut .
Tight en t he Tensioner Pulley Nut wit h t orque of 32.5 ±2.5 Nm.

4. Tight en t he Tensioner Bolt so as t o get t he specified belt t ension; follow
Maint enance Procedure : 923-110-020/ 070 for checking / adj ust ing t he
belt t ension t o t he inst allat ion t ension --170 ±2 Hz.
5. Run t he engine for 5 minut es & conf irm t he st abilized t ension is at 140 t o
145 Hz.

1. Drain t he coolant from t he cooling syst em by opening t he drain plug of

Radiat or or engine block.
2. Assemble back t he drain point & f ill new coolant wit h respect t o
Maximum (MAX) level mark.

Front Hub Greasing Syst em : Front Axle
Dismantling –
x Jack up t he vehicle & remove t he wheel.

x Remove t he caliper assembly wit hout disconnect ing t he brake hose.
Caut ion: Ensure t hat t he brake hoses are not st ret ched/ damaged. Put
t he caliper wit hout st raining t he brake hose.
1. Remove t he hub cover using a screwdriver.

2. Using t he MST 571, remove t he out er locknut .
3. Take out t he lock washer and t he inner nut .
4. Pull out t he hub along wit h t he bearings.
5. Remove t he Oil Seal.

Inspect ion –
x Inspect t he rollers and t he inner races of t he bearings f or Scoring,
pit t ing/ brinelling or spalling.
x If any damage is not iced – inspect t he out er races also.
x To remove & refit t he out er races, use MST.
x If t he out er race / cup is f ound t o be loose in t he housing t hen it is
advisable t o replace t he hub. Trying t o recondit ion t he hub bore is
not recommended.
x If t he bearing seat ing area or t he oil seal seat ing area in t he
spindle is worn t hen replace t he spindle.
Assembly –
x Apply t he MAXIMILE LCG3 grease on t he bearings.

1. Locat e t he inner bearing cone in t he hub.
2. Press t he new oil seal using t he MST 574.
Not e: The lip of t he oil seal should be coat ed wit h grease. Also fill
grease in t he cavit y where t he oil seal spring is present .
3. Press t he hub assembly on t he spindle & fill t he grease.
4. Locat e t he inner cone of t he out er bearing.
5. Tight en t he inner nut and back off by 90 degrees .The hub play should
be wit hin 0.010 t o 0.030 mm.
Ensure t hat t he hub assembly is being rot at ed while t he inner nut is
being t ight ened. This is essent ial t o ensure t hat t he roller cent ralize
t hemselves and also so t hat t hey abut properly.
6. Put t he locking washer & t ight en t he out er nut .
7. Applying Anabond RTV 673 sealant & Press t he hub cover using t he MST
575.

Dismantling –
x Jack up t he vehicle & remove t he wheel.
1. Remove t he Rear Brake drum.
2. Remove Brake Assembly & Axle shaf t ret ainer by opening 6 ret ainer bolt s
on t he brake assembly & axle t ube flange.
3. Using t he MST 576 & 577, Slide t he Axle Shaft Assembly out .
4. Clean & Inspect t he Bearing & oil seal.

Assembly –
1. Apply t he MAXIMILE LCG3 grease on t he bearings.
2. Insert t he Axle Shaft Assembly.
3. Put t he ret ainer & Rear Brake Assembly and t ight en t he ret ainer bolt s on
t he axle t ube flange.
4. Fit t he Brake drum and t ight en t he drum locking screw.

Park t he vehicle on leveled ground. Jack t he vehicle up & remove t he wheel
1. Check t he disc f or wear (Minimum usable t hickness of t he disc is 21mm).
2. Loosen & remove t he bot t om side sliding pin bolt .Swing up t he caliper.
Remove t he pads & check t he pad t hickness. The minimum usable pad
t hickness is 6.3 mm. If observed less; replace t he pads.(The groove at
t he cent er of t he pad can also be used as a ref erence. If t he pad has
worn upt o t he end of t he groove ; it should be replaced)
3. Check f or t he oil leakage from Calipers.

4. Rear Brake – Open t he drum & clean t he brakes by blowing compressed
air. Check t he wheel cylinder for oil leakage.( It is recommended t o
check t he oil seepage f rom wheel cylinder by lift ing t he dust boot s.)
5. Check t he brake lining f or wear/ cracks. The minimum usable t hickness of

t he liner is 3.5 mm (The brake liners must be replaced before t he revit t
st art s t ouching t he drum).
6. Aft er re-assembly, check t he wheel freeness in bot h forward & reverse

direct ion.

5. Six-siren chirp sound verifies t he shock sensor mode ‘ON’ / ‘OFF’ feat ure.
6. While holding t he valet swit ch, press t he remot e lock / unlock but t on; a
single chirp sound verifies t he shock sensor mode ‘ON’ .
7. Two-siren chirp sound verifies t he shock sensor mode ‘OFF’ .
8. Release t he valet swit ch
9. Turn t he ignit ion ‘ON’ .
10. Remove t he f loor Console & locat e t he Shock Sensor Sensit ivit y Set t ing
Screw on t he Securit y Syst em Cont rol Unit on left side ( t owards t he co-
driver seat ).
11. Set the sensitivity as per customer requirement / validation. Rotating

the screw in clockwise direction in creased the sensitivity and rotating in
anti-clockwise direction decreases the sensitivity.
