Student Route Visa

You have indicated that you will require a Student visa to study in the UK. As such, you will need a
Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) from us to support your Student visa application. If
you have not already done so, you will receive an email inviting you to submit your CAS request
information and supporting documentation. This email will come from 'gloucestershire@cas-
shield.com' with the subject line 'Welcome to CAS Shield'. If you do not receive this, please check
your spam and junk email filters, and ensure that the email address you have supplied with your
application is correct.

To be eligible for a CAS, you will need to make an advance tuition fee payment of £4000.00 once
you have received an unconditional offer. Please note the advance tuition fee payment will only be
refundable if a CAS statement has not been issued, there are severe mitigating circumstances, or in
instances of visa refusal that are beyond your control. No advance payment will be refunded if the
refusal is the result of fraudulent activity or plagiarism of your application or supporting statement
(please refer to our Tuition Fee and Bursary Policy for further details on the advance payment). You
should ensure that any payment is made by yourself or a close relative, and directly to the
University (no third party or payments via agents). A full list of our payment methods can be found
here.

Payments close to our CAS request deadline must be made via the University's Quick Pay system.
A full list of our CAS request deadline dates can be found here. Please see our Tuition Fee
Policy here for more information on instalment options and our refund policy. Please read this
carefully.

You will be required to pay 40% of the remaining balance of your course fee at enrolment,
i.e. 40% of what remains after the required advanced tuition payment and any fee deductions
have been applied. A further 20% will then be due in each later instalment outlined in our Fee
policy. We have an online calculator available here to help you with calculating this amount.

You will also need to submit a financial evidence document, which is usually a bank statement
showing required funds that have matured for at least 28 consecutive days. If you have not already
done so, please ensure you begin holding these funds as soon as possible to ensure you have a
valid document prior to our deadline for requesting a CAS. We cannot delay our CAS deadline while
waiting for funds to mature.

If you have only recently transferred these funds into your account, we would also need to see
evidence of the source of these funds. Please see our webpage for more information.

If you have a complicated UK immigration history and suspect that your eligibility for a CAS may be
in question, please hold off on this payment until you have submitted all documentation via the CAS
Shield System, and then contact the Immigration Compliance team, explaining your circumstances.
Once your eligibility has been confirmed you will be instructed to make this payment. This payment
must be received into the University's account before a CAS statement can be issued, and before
the relevant CAS request deadline.

You may be required to have an interview with a member of your course team, or with the
International Student Services Team, prior to CAS issuance. If you are chosen for interview, please
ensure you respond to communications sent by the University to arrange this.

Please note that being given an offer to study with us does not guarantee that you will be given a
CAS. Your eligibility for a CAS will be assessed once you have submitted your CAS Shield
information and all supporting documentation. All Universities have a limited number of CAS that
can be issued. Please ensure you apply for your CAS as early as possible to avoid disappointment.

As a student on a Student visa, you must reside within one hour's commute from your campus in
Cheltenham or Gloucester. Attendance at all taught sessions is required on-site/in – distance
learning for any taught course content is not permitted under any circumstances. Your attendance
and engagement with the programme will be monitored. If you infringe the university's Engagement
and Attendance policy, this may result in the withdrawal of your visa sponsorship.
