Dear JGCC Members and Guests,

It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to our "e;New Look"e; Website.
We trust that it will be easier to navigate your way through the many interesting and exciting
things that our Golfing Establishment has to offer.
2011 looks set to become one of our best years ever with many Club and International events
being held at JGCC. Foremost will be the South East Asian Games (SEAGAMES) taking
place on the JGCC New Course in November 2011.
Indonesia is a strong favorite to win "e;Gold Medals"e; in the Golf having an obvious "e;home
course"e; advantage. Preparation for the SEAGAMES is taking place from as early as
December 2010, with the Indonesian National Team practicing hard most every weekend on
the New Course.
In light of this great event, JGCC is undertaking renovation of the fairway / rough grasses on
the New Course, replacing the green collars and also rebuilding tee boxes. It isn't all happening
on-course, but also in the Men's Locker Room, there are plans for a much anticipated "e;face-
lift"e;.
So it seems that JGCC Members and Guests will also "e;Win Big"e; with newly renovated
facilities.
Although we will try to undertake these renovations with as few a disruptions as possible to
our members and guests, this will mostly be unavoidable, so JGCC management apologizes
for any inconvenience caused during renovation of any area.
In June 2011 Indonesia will once again be the proud host of the MEDCO Indonesian Junior
Open Golf Championship, a World class Junior Golfers event attracting the very best Juniors
domestically and from abroad. This 4-day event has in the past always been played on the New
Course, however due to renovations we will be holding the Open on the Old Course. The
challenge of the narrow fairways will certainly test even the best junior golfers.
In the early part of this year, JGCC shall reignite the entertaining reciprocal club challenge.
Our first mission will be to host our Malaysian reciprocal club Royal Selangor Golf Club.
JGCC will post 12 players who will compete in a "e;Ryder Cup"e; type competition. Hopefully
this will be the beginning of many more similar events and will at the same time offer JGCC a
chance to travel to our reciprocal clubs and experience the true camaraderie and hospitality of
this great game that brings us all together.
All JGCC 45 holes will also be professionally re-rated in March 2011 by a special, qualified
team sent from the Indonesian Golf Association (PGI). This will coincide with a "e;new
look"e; score card and also some small additions to the local rules, one example is Hole #7 of
the Z-Nine now playing as a Par 5 (previously a Par 4, meaning par total for 9 holes becomes
36).
The ditch / drain running horizontal to the fairway (approximately 70 meters in front of the
Ladies Tees) is now an Immovable Obstruction and therefore relief can be taken (Rule 24-2).
This Local Rule is applicable only for that section of drain on that specific hole and is not
applicable for sections of drain that run lateral / parallel with the Fairway.
Finally members and guests please ensure you register early for our members and guests
competitions. Our partners this year are a selection of Jakarta's finest hotels and city clubs.
This will ensure you are pampered in style at the same time enjoying the camaraderie that is so
typically Jagorawi Golf & Country Club.
Happy Golfing and don't forget we are here to serve and on behalf of the entire team here at
JGCC, being at your service is our pleasure.
