    Wireless networking systems/software architect job description

    We are a startup, with funding, developing exciting and novel silicon- and AI/ML-based system
    solutions for wireless network infrastructure.
    We are looking for a hands-on lead software development architect who is familiar with protocol
    stacks for 802.11 (preferably) and/or 3GPP. This role involves architecture definition and network
    software development (in C/C++) for an end-to-end advanced wireless networking solution,
    starting with open source or lightly licensed repositories and putting together an end-to-end
    networking solution.

    Responsibilities include one or more of the following:


    • Working with platform architects, wireless system engineers, and silicon/hardware
    designers to define the detailed architecture requirements for an IP-based end-to-end
    wireless network system for high-speed, low-latency applications
    • Defining detailed SW architecture considering end-to-end data rate, latency, energy
    consumption, reliability, and security requirements.
    • Leveraging existing open source or lightly licensed repositories including those for 802.11
    WiFi, 802.11ad/ay and/or 3GPP and making necessary changes for our system
    • Implementing and testing SW/FW with focus on MAC, and working with hardware and
    systems engineers on bring-up, testing, and optimizing end-to-end performance

    Key qualifications include a subset or all of the following:


    • Experience in building wireless networking systems with focus on MAC/protocol layer and
    end-to-end functionality and performance.
    • Familiarity with modern scalable SW development practices
    • Detailed knowledge of networking systems and software: specifically, wireless MAC and
    PHY algorithms and architectures, 802.11 Wi-Fi technology evolution releases (Wi-Fi 5, 6,
    7, 8), 802.11ad/ay, IP routing and switching (both IPv4/IPv6), Layer 4-7 application
    services, security authentication methods and products; familiarity with cloud network is
    definitely a plus.
    • PhD or MS, with publications and/or patents
