UNITED KINGDOM NEW EMPLOYEE GUIDE
1. How does the visa process, work, and residence permit process proceed? What
are the necessary documents?

In visa procedures, support is provided by the HR and Administrative Affairs team.

Our company can apply for a Skilled Worker Visa for employees who are not citizens of
the European Union and will work in the United Kingdom.

Individuals can also apply for a visa with their families at the same time or separately.

2. Skilled Worker Visa and Required Documents

* For Individual Applications:

 A clear copy of a passport valid for at least 6 months


 National ID (if there is no English translation on the ID, it must be translated
into English by a sworn translator)
 Proof of English proficiency according to the Common European Framework of
Reference for Languages (CEFR) at least at level B1, demonstrating that you can
read, write, speak, and understand English.
 You can prove your English proficiency as follows:
 Passing a Secure English Language Test (SELT) from an approved provider
(https://www.gov.uk/guidance/prove-your-english-language-abilities-with-a-
secure-english-language-test-selt)
 Having a GCSE, A level, Scottish National Qualification level 4 or 5, Scottish
Higher or Advanced Higher English degree, obtained through education at a
school in the United Kingdom that you started under the age of 18
 Visa application form, appointment confirmation documents, and documents
showing that the necessary payments have been made (provided by the
Human Resources Department).
 Residence permits in a country other than the country of citizenship, if living
outside the country of citizenship
 Hotel reservation to stay in the United Kingdom (provided by the Human
Resources Department)
 Plane ticket to the United Kingdom (provided by the Human Resources
Department)
 Document from Anel Engineering and Contracting, the UK company, showing
the position (along with the position code) and salary the person will earn.

 COS certificate (Certificate of Sponsorship) prepared by Anel Engineering and
Contracting in the United Kingdom (provided by the Human Resources
Department)
 Current CV
 Diploma and Transcript Copies

*Additional Documents for Applications with Family

 Information and reservation of the hotel to stay in the United Kingdom
 Plane ticket to the United Kingdom
 Residence permits in a country other than the country of citizenship, if living
outside the country of citizenship
 Marriage certificate and its English translation.
 If children live at different addresses for various reasons, documents specifying
the reason for this situation (e.g., Student Certificate, etc.)
 Bank account statement showing the ability to cover family expenses

*Family application costs will be shouldered by employees.


**Passport photo and fingerprints will be taken by the authorized personnel at the
application center.
All these documents will be submitted to the application center on the visa application day.
The response time for applications is 3 weeks.

3. Obtaining the Visa and Arriving in the United Kingdom

If your visa application is approved, you will receive a visa valid for 3 months (you must
enter the country within 3 months after the visa is issued) and a letter outlining the steps
you need to take upon arrival. The letter will also specify which post office your Residence
Card will be ready for collection.

After arriving in the United Kingdom, you do not need to make any further applications for
the Residence Card, you only need to collect your Residence Card (BRP) from the specified
address on the date indicated.

4. Obtaining the National Insurance Number

The National Insurance Number is the number you legally need to work. After receiving
BRP, you can find your National Insurance Number back side of BRP.

If it is not written on the BRP, you must apply with a copy of your passport and residence
card (BRP).

Applications will be made online and may take up to 4 weeks to complete.

5. How will my transportation be arranged? Will someone from the company


meet me at the airport?

A representative from the Human Resources department will contact you and assist you
with booking your plane ticket. During this period, you are expected to respond promptly
to your calls and emails. It is your responsibility to go to the airport on the day of your flight.
Our company does not provide airport pickup as we do not have company drivers in the
United Kingdom, and public transportation is highly developed. Detailed information about
transportation to the hotel or project site will be provided to you in advance by the Human
Resources department.

6. Where will my first accommodation be?

Our company does not have a guesthouse in the United Kingdom. New arrivals are expected
to finalize their permanent accommodation within the first month. During this period, hotel
reservations for up to 1 month can be made and covered by the company. If there are
additional hotel expenses for family accommodation, they will be covered by the employee.
During this period, your housing allowance (£35 daily) will not be paid.

Hotel stays exceeding 1 month will not be covered by the company.

7. Who can I receive support from and how to settle into the accommodation
during the project?

The HR and Administrative Affairs team in the United Kingdom will assist you with finding
accommodation on internet sites and with real estate agents.

8. How to Rent a House?

There are many websites available in the United Kingdom to find a house
(www.rightmove.co.uk , www.gumtree.com . You can use these sites or directly contact real
estate agents.

To rent a house, your residence card (BRP) and bank account must be opened. The general
practice is to have contracts for 1 year. Landlords usually ask for a 5-week deposit and 1
month's rent before moving in. In addition, generally, real estate agents do not charge
commissions to tenants.

Landlords conduct reference checks for tenants. The name and information of one of our
company's Human Resources Department employees can be provided for company
references.

13. What is the salary payment date and how does the payment process
proceed?

Salary payments in the United Kingdom are transferred to any bank account registered in
your name between the 1st and 5th of each month.

You can request an advance of up to 1 month for renting a house and other expenses in the
first month. The advance given will be deducted from your salary in equal installments over
3 months, starting from the next month. There is no salary advance application in the
following months.

14. Does the company provide support during the transfer of salaries to Home
Country? (Sending money to family/relatives)

Employees make their own salary transfers. They can make online transfers through the
bank Anel Group works with. Generally, transfers made online are credited to the account
the next day. In addition, money transfers can also be made through Western Union or
other banks.

15. What is the currency of the salary?

Salaries are paid in British Pounds. You can withdraw your salary from ATMs using your
ATM card.

16. What is my annual leave entitlement?

The total annual leave entitlement is 20 + 8 (official public holidays), totaling 28 days per
year. Annual leave must be used within the earned leave year; otherwise, any remaining
balances will not be carried over to the next leave year (the annual leave periods are from
January 1st to December 31st each year). In case of emergencies or force majeure (such as
family members' illness, death, etc.), leave is granted in accordance with regulations.

17. What are the official holidays and their durations?

In the United Kingdom, official holidays are referred to as "Bank Holidays" and vary from
year to year. There are a total of 8 official holidays each year.

18. How should I use my leave?

After filling out the Annual Leave Form and obtaining the first manager's signed approval,
the second approval is obtained from the Project Manager. To avoid any issues, you must
inform the Human Resources department of your signed approval document at least 2
weeks in advance. Weekly holidays and public holidays are not deducted from annual leave
durations; all working days are deducted from the leave entitlement.

For employees who move to the United Kingdom after working on other projects, the leave
earned outside the United Kingdom is not transferred to the United Kingdom. Individuals
cannot use the leave earned on their previous projects in the new project period; they can
switch to the new project by using all their leave and resetting it.

19. Is there a severance pay policy?

Severance pay in the United Kingdom is paid when individuals are dismissed from their
jobs. The conditions for this are as follows:

Only individuals who have worked for 2 years or more are entitled to severance pay.

• 0.5 week's pay for each full year of service if the employees are under 22 years old
• 1 week's pay for each full year of service if the employees are 22 or older but under 41
• 1.5 week's pay for each full year of service if the employees are 41 or older
There are maximum limits in the calculation. The total years of service cannot exceed 20.

20. Can I drive with a Foreign driver's license?

After your residence permit (BRP) is issued, you can drive a car or motorcycle with your
foreign driver's license for up to 12 months. At the end of 12 months, you need to take
theory and practical exams to exchange your license.
